That was the first time I asked the members of the VRCC to support my efforts in raising money to fund Children's Cancer Research. This will be my 10th year shaving my head in solidarity with the children that loose their hair during chemo.  In those 9 years I have organized and hosted 2 shave off events, the other years I have only participated as a shavee. I will again be going under the shears on March 12, 2016 in the village of Romeo, MI.  Romeo has been hosting shaveoff events for 7 years running and always is among the 10 top fund raiser world wide.  Romeo goes all out for this event, they are closing Main St and erecting a tent this year for the shaveoff, so if you are local, I encourage you to attend, it is a very moving experience.

Well, for the 10th time I am coming to my VRCC friends and family to support me in my efforts.  Several members have continually been very generous in their support and I hope they will continue.  Donations can be made on my St. Baldricks webpage at:

https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/822216/2016

Just click on the green DONATE button and fill in your information.

Thank you all for your past and I hope future generous support.

Skinhead

Here is a photo from one of the events I organized.  These are fellow VRCC members and shavees Dinah and John Stroich and myself.

It's not a contest and there is no award for the largest donation.  The pay off and satisfaction comes from knowing that you DID something to help these kids, rather than buy a few Starbucks.

All donations are greatly appreciated.  I remember the bible story of the rich man who gave a big donation and the poor woman who gave a pittance.  I believe the moral was that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.

Thank you for doing your part and stepping up.

Hey Skinhead, donation sent.

It's a great thing you're doing. I'm a sucker for kids, especially when I see places accepting donations for St.Jude.

Keep up the good work, God Bless.

Thank you guys, you don't know how much I appreciate your support.  Thanks to the generosity of some of the people on this board, and some non-members, I have less than $900 to go to meet my goal.  My VRCC family is awesome!  I'm actually surprised they would let a guy like me be a member!
