... were a lot more fun than this weekend's... Stanley Steamer came over
last weekend and spread 40 tons of stone...
This weekend was looking good... I even went for a back-roads ride to
some nearby roads I don't know up around the Oconee/Pickens line
near highway 11... there's some nice roads there, but sometimes you
end up having to back-track because of lake Hartwell or lake Keowee.
Anywho... Carolyn sent me out to start the grill about 6:30. I started
the coals and was washing the grill when the el-cheapo pot-metal
no-freeze hot-water hose-bib knob busted off! I had to hold the
plunger in there while Carolyn ran out to shut the water to the
house off, or else hot water would have been shooting out the
side of the house.
We still cooked steaks. I spent about four hours this morning
crawling around under there figuring out what needed done
and getting a new (brass and copper) no-freeze bib from Lowes.
The hose bib is the male threaded end kind, but was in a very
hard to reach place, blocked by lots of insulation, a foundation
pedestal and in between two floor joists. I couldn't even
really see what needed fixed, just feel it. I jambed the
camera up in there so I'd be sure of what I was doing...
The white pipe is the house plumbing, the metal pipe is
the el-cheapo hose-bib...
