Temps reached 64, wind gusts up to 40 MPH, had a great day.

Two of my buddies and I meet in Yorkvlle this morning at 10 AM.  Took the long way to Verona
Illinois to have lunch at EJ Karz, I nice little biker bar in the middle of nowhere.  Good burgers,
They have half of a 63 Chevy II convertible on the deck.  Don't know the story of how it came to
be like that.

We then headed to Utica, going to Stonehead, a biker stop for sure.  They have jackets, chaps,
t-shirts, vests, bells, gloves, and patches. Picked up a nice pair of light weight riding gloves for a
fair price and they had 3X's.  Last three Harley shops I stopped at did not.

Sat and chatted for bit over a beer and watched the dark clouds roll in. Sky had been getting
darker since lunch.

We decided to head back towards Yorkville as the clouds continued to roll in.  Stopped
for a quick beer and hoped we could finish it before the rain started.  As we mounted the
bikes, its was spitting but no heavy rain.  We all headed our separate directions at the stop
where we had met earlier.

Never did get rain, just spit on.

Checked the odometer when i got home, 168 miles door to door, in Northern Illinois, in
February.   This is a first for me the since I have been riding. Usually snow and ice with
sub freezing temps.

It was a great day.  Man did it feel good to ride again.  Heard it could be near 60 tomorrow.

May have to ride again.

I was down around the Marsailles area Saturday and then took the F6b to Fryes yesterday to pick up a new power supply for my wife's puter. Got in about 150 miles between the two days. It was beautiful out!

Russ-The Illinois Freedom Ride is the Saturday following the Friday I-16 ends. Ross and I are planning on taking a motel close to Marsailes and making that ride. At least at this point in time. Also known as the Sand Box Memorial Wall. Somewhere around 3000 of our closest friends!  2funny Keep that in mind-Ross ad I stick around long enough to get our trinkets hob nob a bit and leave BEFORE the serious drinkin begins!  Roll Eyes In 14 they closed off downtown to vehicular traffic. In 15 the flooding kept us out of downtown. ALL the monery raised goes to maintaining the Memorial. I apoligize for the hijack but in my mind-Its a VERY important ride and fund raiser. RIDE SAFE.

Dennis, I see that ride is June 18th this year.  Normally, we'd head up to the lakehouse in Wisc during the prime month weekends. But I'll do my best to delay it a day to make that ride. You might have to remind me as time grows closer.

don't count on it, we got 3-4" of wet, icy, sloppy sleety rain/snow last night into today.

It has been though a very NON snowy and milder temps into the mid 50's a few days here and there in WI in February is unheard of.  Even the very small local pond/lake is open water 1/2 way as of March 1st which is unheard of.
