A few years back I saw something that was both painful and a bit funny. There's a spot in South Daytona, right on US1, that's a huge hangout for the HD crowd. They park right on the highway on both sides and the local LEOs are out in force to make you slow down, the traffic is often reduced to single lane going through the area. This time I was stopped at the crosswalk, some HD riders took off from their parking spot on the right and hit it hard and loud. One dufus with his female corider in back also took off....really hard and fast, jerking the front wheel up momentarily. Mama slipped right off the back(no sissy bar) and skidded on her butt for a couple yds. on the pavement. It took off a large patch of her Daisy Dukes, both sides, as well as two large patches of butt cheek. She was screaming in pain, some other gals ran up to her and helped her up, she could barely walk and in excruciating pain I'm sure. Her male companion came running back to her, said something to the effect "why didn't you hang on" whereupon she gave him a right hook that Ali would have been proud of. Knocked him on his ass in front of all his buddies.
I don't know how it all turned out but sure made me cringe when I saw it, blood running down the back of her legs, raw flesh and all. I'm sure she couldn't even sit for some time to come, and I'm sure the guy she was with had plenty of time to think about his riding skills.....alone.
