I have a 1997 tourer & wanted to know how wide a rear tire , also how tall a frt. tire I could put on. Has anyone dropped the rear with shorter shocks, how low can you go, thanks for the info.

Don't really know about the Max tire sizes but you can lower it with shorter shocks but then you can bottom out easier. My question would be why? I think Honda got the height correct.
1997 Bumble Bee
1999 Interstate (sold)

I have seen that look on other bikes & wondered if anyone had tried with a valkyrie. I didn't want to go extreme , just a little wider rear & a taller frt. tire. I don't want to neg. effect the driveability so that's why I asked, thanks.

Also departure from the 180/70 diameter will effect your final output/rpm's.

People have put a 200 size tire on the rear with no problems.  An Elite III is about as big a front tire as you can put on the front without taking the front fender off.

You can put as short as 11.5 inch shocks on with any problems....however, the bike will bottom out a lot easier.  I have 11.5's on mine and it's only bottomed out only a couple of times riding two up.
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

I'll check that out thanks for the help .

I run a stock size front tire but the rear is a car tire, 205/60r16 with 12" shocks. No problems.
