Hey, they need to make a change in the border. Need to make it go along I-80. From there to the north are good folks. Most want to make that area the State of Jefferson. Just saying.
Besides this time of year I do a lot of my riding just over the border, lots of county roads and no ice/snow.

My guess is due to the influx of illegals, hence the name Mexifornia.

Shouldn't build a wall. Should build a canal. Like Panama Canal. From Pacific to Gulf.
Fill it with alligators and sharks.
reap economic benefit from shipping traversing the canal.
Problem solved.

Let's go ahead and keep the State of Jefferson (Northern California) but have a small bit of the wall go up and encircle Austin, that'd not be a big loss...

This was actually proposed back in the 60s. They talked about setting nukes all along the border, controlled explosion to dig the canal. Serious idea, environmentalist got it defeated. NOT on nuclear grounds, but because Atlantic and Pacific water / waterlife shouldn't mix.

A half to one mile of muti density minefield. (no rescue)
Harder to tunnel under than a fence.
Works pretty well in Korea.

Get 'em all to go onto Long Island and/or Manhattan, then just blow the bridges and tunnels maybe?

I'm about 15 miles from the northern part of Manhattan Island. I love living here! I have the worlds biggest, busiest, best looking, best tasting, best entertaining, best people watching, best educational, most diverse, safest big city of a playground at my fingertips.
Yes, I pay through the nose in taxes for this privilege, and I do mean Privilege, but I can't think of a better place to raise my kids. Within minutes away there are farms and vineyards, fishing and sailing, motorcycle riding, hiking, camping, etc. Then there is everything the greatest city in the world has to offer including the libraries, museums, parks, history, architecture, street smarts (this is a biggie), restaurants (had Cuban food this past Sat for Cher's B'Day), Billy Joel every month at the greatest arena Madison Square Garden, and on, and on,........
I do wish the city leaned a different way politically, but it's really no different than most major urban settings. The rest of the state is different.

On a serious note of the big cities that I've been to I'd have to say Perth or Vancouver.

I'm not sure about the greatest city in the world, but New York City is one my favorite cities. Perhaps because I just visit. Subways are great, people are nicer than you think and there is always something to do there.
I do agree about the fence around Austin, since it has been Californicated.

You know if Trump fenced us off (Calexico or Mexicali) I'd be down with that. Why, why would I leave this? (view from the top of my street, temperature 74 degrees) In the winter this is the vista I see driving to work. All the beauty of snow without the shoveling. So fence us off, see ya (O: ¡viva la república de California
