So, I have a set of Mustangs hardbags.  They are fiberglass, covered with vinyl and the lids are also covered in vinyl with conchos and studs.

I ripped the vinyl that covers the bag part.  I called Mustang and ordered the vinyl cover.

About a month later, I received the vinyl cover for the lid, complete with concho and studs, not the body of the bag.

Called Mustang and spoke with Jan.  She understood and wrote directly on the order that I received the cover for the lid and not the cover for the bags.

Mustang refunded my money and a month later I received another vinyl cover for the the lid.

Called mustang and spoke with Jan again and we both had a good laugh.  She could not have been more explicit and they messed up anyway.

I sent a pic of the bag to her directly this morning.

She called back about noon and told me that they're just going to send me a complete new bag.  I didn't say anything for a few seconds and then she added Free Of Charge Of Course ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Awesome.  A brand new bag with new lid and all (she said they wouldn't separate out a complete bag.

I'll probably be able to use the same key for the new lock.  I got the bags and the trunk that matches a few months apart and all the keys worked all the locks.  At last years Pow Wow, there was a guy who also had the same bags and all the keys worked all the locks.  That's some security.   Cheesy

I sent them a pic with the bag mounted on the bike, with the duct tape still in place.

I think that I was the first, or one of the very first adapters to the Mustang saddle bags here on the site.  They are a great bag....I love mine.   cooldude

When I was in Heavy Equipment school back early 80's, same thing with the Caterpillar machines. One key for all. A VERY expensive key too, was something like $35 for a replacement (min wage was about $5/hr at that time).

Got the bag, and a follow-up call asking if everything is OK.

Thanks Mustang.
