Does any one know of a site or source on the basics of carboraters, expecially  the honda flat six system.
I know absolutely nothing about this subject.

the carbs are basic common vacuum slide carbs.
all have three main circuits which all over lap each other. pilot jet, needle and main jet. the fourth circuit is the pilot jet mixture screw, which has affects through all three circuits.

go to www.factorypro.com tech section and see their tuning guide for CV carbs low rpm. there is other useful info in the tech section also.

Maintenance is rarely, if ever needed on the carburetors. Gasoline additives are strongly recommended for the Valkyrie to keep things running smoothly.

Removing or working or modifying the carburetors is a very technically intensive activity and should not be attempted by the novice. Many problems can result from working on the carburetors up and including breaking the carburetors.

As previously stated, a regular regime of a gasoline additive will normally take care of the problems associated with a "poorly running" engine, especially if it had been running properly previously.

To what end? Education of how carbs work. Planing on rebuilding yours (then the ? would be Why?) etc., etc...
