Does anybody have a current email or phone number for Ross SPoonland...I want to order one of his Valk jack/lift adapters. He doesn't list phone numbers and the email shown fails.

Thanks for any insights

I was under the impression that he quit making those things
ten years ago?

Isn't this pretty much the same?

$55 on eBay...

MarkT... a member of this club... makes a lift adapter that's probably pretty good... a lot like
the one in the picture, but it can stay on your bike... I've left the one in the picture on my
bike by mistake before...  Shocked

The MarkT adapter looks very nice, but it lacks the bottom plate with 1 3/16 inch diam round stub to allow it to fit right into a typical 2 1/2 ton automotive type jack in place of the usual round lift plate.

I guess I could procure a mc/atv lift like so here many use. Just one more geegaw I don't have room for.

Ross should pull his webpage if he is no longer offering.

Thanks for the update.

Does he have a "real" web page, or did you just see the same old
link I saw on shoptalk...?

You're right, it was the Shop talk link that come up when I googled him.

Just found a good deal on a used bike/atv lift....$25!! Will pick it up and build a wooden adapter.

I had enough wood layin around from other projects to build the wooden adapter. Been around about a month less than I've owned the Phatt Ghurl. NEVER had a moments concern with it.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Doesn't LACK the plate/post you refer to.  That would lower the clearance under the adapter and create a problem if it is left on the bike.  Also wouldn't clear the arms of a std atv/bike lift, and would add to the weight.  My adapter is only 2 lbs.  Also that plate/post forces the lift location which changes depending on bike model - IS CG further back than Tourer which is further back than std. Unless the lift point or attach points are movable and that adds to the weight, complexity and price.  I deliberately left it off.  BTW I have used the adapter with post in axle jacks exclusively since '99 for lifting Valks until I created this adapter last fall.  This permanent attached adapter is an improvement over both the adapter for axle jacks and the adapters with arms that reach up into the swingarm area - completely superfluous and unnecessary if the steel adapter in secured to the holes on the sides of the "oil pan" casting. Get with the program and buy an ATV jack!

I used the wooden adapter for a couple years, but recently bought and installed MarkT's.

So much more convenient to slide the ATV jack under and lift without fuss, which I do every time I clean. Not so much that I lift it, but that I center it up. Great stability, even when I vigorously do the windshield and get that rhythm going.

Money well spent, IMO.

I got my ATV jack from Craigslist/Tools, see them all the time, $40-75. Mine was like new, $50.
