Valkyrie with factory reverse ?

Anybody ever seen one with reverse ? Would it have come over from Japan ?

I think the Japanese Valks had a handle on the left side that engaged reverse, that and a box of electronics and switches. Used the starter motor to backup.

You dont need reverse on a tourer, an interstate maybe but are there not hundreds or even thousands out there without reverse and no one has any problems. Would be nice sometimes though

Yeah you don't make the mistake of parking in a bad spot generally more than once. Once in Jerome parking was tight as it usually is. I figured it won't be too bad to back out up hill. Thought I was going to puke by the time I got it out.

3x's now in 7 years I needed reverse, one was VERY bad thought I'd be in big trouble going down a 4 foot ditch.  I guess once every 2 years is not that bad, but should know better by now??

Any ideas why mother Honda didn't just leave it on the darn Valks much like the Wings with same engine, or at least put it on the I/S since loaded down all 3 bags with 15 or so lbs. in each makes it darn near impossible to back it up even a 10 degree forward angle.

rode through Jerome many times on 89A going over mingus mountain that whole town has DO NOT STOP written all over it...never did WAY too tourist for me

same here,  baby it set at 60 mph on speedo which is really about 57 mph and you will get near 40 mpg, but who drives below 60 mph anymore??  I have been known to stay at darn near 70 mph on speedo which is around 65 mph and keeping up with traffic in a 55 mph zone.  Then the I/S dips to around 35-36 mpg mostly hwy riding.

Headed for Prescott in about 10 minutes.  One of our SoCal guys just retired to Prescott also.

I stayed over night in Prescott once, seemed like a nice area.  They had plenty of snow the night I was there. Flagstaff is a town I spent quite a few days in, I like it too.

Can't get 40 mpg ?  I consistently get over that if I keep it at 3K or less. Plus I'm in no hurry any more and find myself riding the back roads more often. Every now and again I have let the Badger loose and scrap some pegs, but, come fill up time, its still 40+.

As far as reverse goes, one would be nice. There are places [ inclines] where my legs start to argue with me if I have back that monster out of a parking spot. I've learned to pick the parking spots carefully and whether to pull in or back in. I wish I could read greens as well as I've learned to read parking spaces.

I wish I could get 40 mpg with the golf cart. Come to think of it, the way I play golf, maybe it does. I can turn a mile long course into 10 miles quite easily !

I don't need reverse gear on a Valkyrie.  There are some who do but they should be a rare minimum.

I do need to be careful not to park the Valkyrie nose down but then that's not a good idea on a sidestand anyway.

I don't need reverse either. I don't need millions of dollars. I don't need a nicer newer truck and a bigger boat. Still even though I don't need it I think I could make use of it if I had it
