Jefferson memorial in DC??

Is nice that all the interesting things to see in DC is all within 3 miles of each other, except walking on over to Arlington which I would have liked to do but was too far too walk after walking about 25 miles in 4-5 days in DC on vacation, didn't have the energy and my feet were killing me after that week.

No doubt it takes much more effort to make a ride report on this site with pictures than any other website I keep track of however it's worth it.  Not sure what it would involve to make posting pic's here as easy as it is on Facebook and other sites where its just a simple click and the pic is in the post I'm thinking this would be very beneficial to this aging website.... I agree, and have no complaints of this site or how it is run. It would be easier and more likely to include ride reports if it were easier to post pics.
I belong to Cadillac-LaSalle club, which doe not charge a membership fee for the forum, but does charge for club membership. You just click add photo, browse, click the picture on your computer and you get a thumbnail which interested viewers can choose to view on a larger scale.
That being said, I appreciate the job by the folks that run this forum, and congratulations to DDT for his new accomplishment. I always look forward to him sharing his adventures as well as Joe's.

Although it does remind one of the Jefferson Memorial, it's actually a memorial to the fallen troops from Illinois at the Vicksburg National Military Park on the sight of the Civil War battle that took place there in 1863. We took a tour of that during our Exotic BLT Ride a couple of weeks ago...

Congrats you old bug killer.  Just goes to show you that old dogs can learn new tricks. Smiley

Terry, if I may be so bold as to quote our prospective soon to be Madame President, "Woof, woof... woof, woof..." I am trying to learn new things, but it ain't easy to tackle complicated tasks with very limited intellectual capacity! Actually that was my first attempt, with a great deal of supervision and assistance from Mr. Troutdude. I'll have to fool around with it much, much more before I can claim to actually have a grasp on the process... Stay tuned... ya'll may have created a monster here!!!

I don't pretend to understand how to post pics to this forum and will admit that knowing Bruce can and I can't makes me feel like an old geezer but, he does so many things better than I do that I have learned to live with it.    His wisdom, experience, writing ability and adventures leave me speechless.   I've gotten used to this phenomenon since I've come to know Bruce.   uglystupid2 Wink

Edited:   Test my ass, I'm convinced he's just trying to make me feel bad all over again.  Wink

Nah... You just keep on doing what you do... You're doing just fine. BTW, that pic of you at the Artic Circle is one I envy muchisimos maximus! By the time my two pals and I reached Fairbanks on our Alaska trip, we decided not to tackle the 120 mile or so ride up the unpaved road to that site... I've regretted that decision ever since! You did it, though, and that was no small thing.

I'm thinkin' he could have picked some better lookin' subjects!  Wink

T-man, I'm thinkin' you should be careful with comments like that... there are two ladies also in that photo! As for the guys, however, I can't argue with you there!!!

Bruce, you know I'm pulling your chain....................  Smiley

Of course I do, Ron... You need not be shy though, I happen to know you have piloted rotary wing aircraft! I doubt I could survive such an attempt...

Now that you are a pro picture poster you may have to show me how the next time your here.  cooldude

Assuming I do get to a point I can 'solo' this process myself, I'd be happy to show you... Heck, I'd just be happy to visit y'all again!

Thanks for the encouragement, y'all... Now I gotta practice, practice, practice!

Me too! I think I'll eventually get it, though, with a little more instruction. My 'coach' had to break off from this part of the ride today, however, so no more pics from me for a while longer. As for your situation, all I can suggest is to find yourself a coach. If you have any teenage kids or grandkids, that might be a good place to start.

I WISH I could figure out the trick to photo posting.
Greg, I tried off and on for a few years with PhotoStash and Dropbox. With no success. Wiggy walked me thru it using PhotoBucket and it's pretty easy. If you have an account with them, when you look at one of your pics ther will be 4 boxes to the right. One of them is labeled "img". Click on that and it will say copied. Then go to the box where you are posting and just do a paste. Control V is a short cut. And that's it. You don't need to use the img icon or anything.
