Snowed today. I had two good riding days and now comes the wait for clear roads again.
I can see there needs to be a move south in my future.

What are the best riding states in the union?

Colorado is stellar in the summer and has a longer (Later in many cases) riding season than many states.

Does the same here in Calgary but I'd never move south to gain a little riding in the spring and then come summer to hot to ride. Besides.......way to beautiful here.

I'd vote for Tennessee or North Carolina.  Those states feature some beautiful, challenging roads plus have some of the best riders in the country, IMHO.

I have a longer riding season here in Missouri than my Brother do in Illinois up N W of Chicago. Memphis Tn. Little Rock Ar. Tulsa Ok. are out and back day rides. Chicago Il. Houston Tx. D F W Tx. Smoking Joes area and some others are a bit longer. Draw a 600 mile circle from Willow Springs Mo. I've stated before I can be draggin pegs a mile-mile and a half from Lacasa.  cooldude The job market here on the other hand-timber related mostly. I drove big truck for a reason!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

the best riding state in the union is ARIZONA by far. For OHH so many reasons. It's Dry, warm, pretty, lots of camping, go up when its hot, go down when its cold, just a fun place to be. It's where I hope to move too.

California would be my second choice. Wetter and more expensive but still good.

Colorado is nice but I have found the weather rough. I have never crossed the rockys {12ish times now} without needing my raingear.

Wisconsin is God's country. Has best scenery wih lots of lakes, rivers, woods, Farm land, hills, critters. You can do anything here. Except  been to Calgary an we used to get the St. Paul Press at work and their were a couple of us that figured we might have to move there as it seemed their winters were warmér than ours. Pretty nice up by Revelstoke To Drumheller.

AZ way too hot for me for sure, although in WI lucky to get to ride 6 months of the year tops.

Put bike up mid November and doubt will be out before April 1st much at all.

Just too darn cold in the early mornings below 40 degrees to get out and ride.  I can handle the cold, but much colder than say 38 degrees doesn't make it too much enjoyable.  Can say the same for 90+ degree heat as is the case in AZ, etc.

Yah, except that ain't Calgary. No pine trees and mountain roads in the prairies.  angel

Currently snowing here, nice Cherry Blossoms coming off all the trees, the ground is pink in a lot of places.

Weather is weird this year as we have had next to no snow since the start of February and temps above 0C\32F throughout that time consistently. We need a good dump to keep the farmers happy!

And now 6-12"  Saturday?  Well I will have the weekend to put the faring and new mirrors on. :-)

NC is a target and they have the "Dragons Tail"?  I think that is what it is called. Def a road on my bucket list. I wouldn't want to move somewhere where the riding season is shortened from what I already have. :-)
