We used to bug my mom that when she got up in the middle of the night, with the lights too bright, no glasses, and a scowl on her face, she looked like Garry Shandling.

One of those guys with a "dry" sense of humor, but on the intellectual side of the street.  Put him in the same arena as Albert Brooks, George Carlin, Steven Wright, David Steinberg.

He was one of those "wait for it"...punchline kinda comedians.  Then the tight grin.
