Pretty sure they interchange, the only differences being the plastic fender emblem and the wider chrome fork covers on the IS fenders.

Yes, bolts right on.  I have an ugly black interstate fender on the Mothership because I can't find one in the right color on ebay.

Black is nice if the whole bike is black.  Doesn't go so good with Blue and cream.

Sadly, I lack those skills or the funds to have someone else do it.

Check out the dupli color wrap plastic paint. Peels off.

Paint it with a more complementary color to your bike, and if/when you get a replacement fender, peel it off and sell it.

Do a bad paint job, peel it off after it dries.
