After so many years and past knee surgery on both knees it has taken it toll. Today doc said it is time, so April the 21st both knees will have total replacement. I had already gotten rid of my heavy bikes so the Goldwing trike is now one of my main rides. Still have my M50 for my 2 wheels. So new chapter in my life is starting. Don't know if I will return to work or just call it quite. Now to get it done and recover so I can ride again.

A customer of mine had both knees replaced, one in the fall of 2014 and the other in 2015.

He said it was a lot of work, (PT) but the turn out is excellent.

Good luck cooldude

Believe what he says. I had a total knee replacement in 1991 by a really good Doc and his rehab team. I did pt/rehab both before and after the surgery.

The knee still works great. No problems. I've remained active with walking and water skiing. The technology has greatly increased since my replacement. Pick a good Doc, one with many, many repetitions, do the rehab religiously, keep your weight down and remain active & you will be ok.

Already know about the rehab. Did a bunch on my last knee surgery's. Will have a team of doctors. One doctor will do the right while another is doing the left. Very good doctor. My doctor and the other has worked together for 15 years as a team. Supposedly 55 minutes surgery. Tired of having bad knees.

Once everything gets back to normal, would you be able to go back to two wheels? Would you want to?

Will see how it goes with the lighter Suzuki M50. I believe the trike will be no problem. I will probably stay away from the heavier bikes like the Valkyrie and Goldwings. I do like the Indians, but I don't see it in my future.

Thanks for the heads up. Talked with a lot of people who had their replaced and was told the same thing. No pain no gain. I have real good flexibility in both knees now. So that will help. My wife is afraid I might push too hard. I usually try and do more than what is required. So will see how it goes. Always have given 110% in anything I do. Will keep posted on progress as the rehab starts.

So far, at 88, I haven't had my bad knees replaced. Taking uC2 has helped.  I also understand that at my age only one at a time because of surgery time risk and I live along.

My daughter has had both knees replaced.  She is a professional secretary at a Rehab center.  She also says REHAB, REHAB, REHAB, is the key.  Tough but works.

They say rehab to get the knees right. It will be worth it. I have a pretty high pain tolerance which will probable need it. I have been bone to bone on my knees for the last 5 years. They are getting pretty unstable. Got a lot  of side to side movement. Been getting worst. Time to do it while I have good insurance.

Had both of my knees replaced. One in 2012 and the other one in 2014. Did rehab at home and never looked back! Was the best decision I ever made, and I've never had any issues on two wheels!
