A friend shared this with me.
The OPP found over 200 dead crows on the 401 near Kingston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Pathologist examined the re...mains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the ...bird's beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorcycles while only 2% were killed by cars.
The OPP then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorcycle kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviorist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "bike"

See, now I think that was a very good point and good conclusion. I wouldn't have thought of that. That behaviorist is making the best of all that money spent on education.   Grin

The punch line made me laugh out loud.  cooldude

Got a real chuckle out of that.  cooldude

In particular since there is some truth in it right till the end. When hunting crows, one will notice there usually is a lookout crow. When picking them off at long distance they will usually know what is going on pretty quickly and fly and look till they spot the hunter. This isn't from personal experience, just shared experience. I've never hunted them and don't need another species to hunt, deer hunting already consumes too much of my time.

Sadly I took the time to read the entire thing.  It wasn't until the final line that I remembered I had read that joke before.      Sad

It is one of the few benefits of age. Old jokes seem new again.  Smiley
