Close encounter with a nutcase, glad I wasn't on the Valkyrie. Had a guy pull up along side me on a four lane section of city street and since I had my window down I heard him saying something and thumbing towards the direction we had just come from. With the wind noise and my radio I couldn't understand what he was saying but I thought I must have a tail light out or something hanging out the back. So I turn off the the radio and slow down some more and the the guy says, "you cut me off back there!" I knew that wasn't true as I had changed lanes about 6 blocks back and having checked my mirror first this guy was a good 2-300 yards back when I moved over. I also noticed he came up and got on my bumper for a while till I moved back over. We were at first in a 45 mph zone and then right into a 35 mph zone and at not time did my actions impede his forward motion. I also noticed that he was driving pretty aggressively in changing lanes behind me but that's not that unusual in this day and time. So I tell him, "no, I did not, I saw you." He says, "yes you did, I almost ran into the back of you". I knew this was going no where, so I decide to get away from him. Now this 4 lane splits in a Y up ahead and becomes a two way street to the right and a two way street to the left. We are maybe 500 yards from the split and I accelerate away from him. My first thought is to move over in front of him as I usually use the left hand split to go home. Next thing I see and hear is this guy coming back up beside me at full throttle and we are practically at the caution light where the road splits.

I figured he just wanted to beat me to the split so I couldn't move over maybe?  But no, at the caution light this guy cuts over in front of me to put me in my place, maybe? Talk about karma, just as he passes me in the curve of the split he starts to skid and power slides into a guard rail on the drivers side with enough force to blow his side curtain air bags. He drives, coasts on into an empty lot just past the guard rails. I'm sure his Fusion is totaled due to the air bags all due to some perceived injustice I perpetrated on him. The scary part is that as he was going around me on the outside of that curve he was by then in the lane of on coming traffic and there was no way for him to know if a car was coming or not. Funny part (not haha funny) was the second car in the oncoming lane was a LEO. I would have loved to hear his explanation. I don't know if he had been drinking on something a little stronger, only explanation that makes any sense given his actions.

As the miles I drive/ride rack up the less I'm amazed by the sheer ignorance and stupidity of a very large percent of the road users.

From 2 to 18 wheels.

Yesterday I watched a Porsche convertible attempt to overtake 3 cars on a double yellow approaching a blind curve.

He managed to force himself  back to his side of the road in between cars 1 and 2 as a BIG pick up came into view.

Yesterday I watched 2 H=D riders force themselves to go faster than was comfortable just because I on 2 wheels caught up to them. Eventually I dropped back so  they too could slow down.

They didn't know how to/want to lean and crossed the center lines a couple of times. Lots of noise and a little more acceleration in the straights and then HARD on the brakes for the gentlest of curves.

When I was a LEO I had a theory....Only people on the road after 2:30am were cops, drunks and truck drivers.

Your theory was just that...A theory and wrong. I and many other people leave the house anywhere from 2:30AM to 3:00AM everyday for work depending on where I have to go.

Glad you're alright, he could have taken you out in the process.  Now a days they can just as easily pulled out a gun.

Trying to avoid (any further) contact with a nut case is a good idea.  The easiest way to put space between you is best, and frankly running off (on a fast Honda) may be the easiest.  But sometimes people are like dogs, and will chase you if you run (and that can look like drag racing to LE).  Just slowing down a couple minutes and letting them drive away (if they will) is not my favorite method, but it can be a safer way to part company with a nut case.

Anytime   some one makes a snap pass , I hit the brakes and if possible   , change  lanes. I have seen  it to often .
As for the HDs. It is a common problem  with them. To many encounters with their mentality.

I had almost the exact thing happen to me several years ago. Some dumb kid (I was also a dumb kid at the time) pulled up next to me at a stop light and said I pulled out in front of him and he about hit me. Even though I watched him pull out from a side road as I passed. I told him he was a dumbass. He flipped me off and the light turned green. It had been drizzling rain and as he hit 2nd gear the rear end broke loose and went straight into a telephone pole. He got out stumbling around and I pulled up next to him and asked him if that made him feel like a dumbass. He tried to kick my truck and slipped and fell. I rolled up my window and went on my way. I love instant karma
