It's a commercial advertisement aimed at what they believe will be an emotional appeal.

They apparently didn't bother to get any technical advice on how the uniform should be worn.

It would be touching were it true or if that commercial presenter had mentioned what they offered to contribute.   Sad

Makes me not want to shop there. But I am kind of heartless. Making money off of others service or the emotions in that is not patriotic in my opinion.                                                                              I think I could still dress properly in my CrackerJacks or my Dress uniform. But I'm not familiar with the other services. Was it the young mans collar that you were referring to ?

I am with Willow on this one.  I spent 23 years in and put it behind me, got rid of all uniforms, including dress blues, and never looked back.  All these ads that play on peoples emotions, ie wounded warrior, st Judes, peta, and so on, the list is long, flat turn me off.  Of course I don't let feelings run my life like some of the more liberated members.

I had rather see this commerical than all those car insurance or medicine commericals? I think this commerical is much better and it might wake up one of our new generation american, spoiled, know everything, brain washed, clueless, and yes sensitive young people. I like it!

Yes-they want you to shop at THEIR Stores. I understand that completely. I served also and the thing about being Patriotic rang close to true for me. If you make it a point to remember it IS an advertisement for a Food Chain Store First the rest clicks into place. RIDE SAFE.

It's been a long time since I was in and I was a U.S. Marine.  When I was in the Army had some of the same expectations.  The collar, yes, but also we would never consider being outdoors in uniform without a cover.  It just struck me that they put together an intended emotional scene without bothering to get some experienced advice on how it should look.

If a business really wanted to salute our service men past and present perhaps a donation of some sort would be appropriate.  Maybe it was done and just wasn't mentioned.   Undecided

Man I am getting old  Sad How could I forget about the cover ?
As an aside I'm curious how many still have their uniforms and can any still fit in them ? I think I threw mine away maybe 10 years after being discharged. After 8 years of not being able to fit I gave up hope and tossed them.  tickedoff
