My wife and I finally got out at the last minute to head to Fredericksburg, TX this weekend.   The bluebonnets are in full swing between Llano and Fredericksburg on Hiway 16.  If you go, be sure and ride the Willow City Loop road.  Keep in mind that on the weekends the area is overrun with people doing the same thing.

Hotel lodging in Fredericksburg on the weekends now is at a premium, so plan ahead.   Lots of people doing the same thing we did.

We ran Hiway 16 back home to the Jacksboro area.  Most of the Bluebonnets are in the Llano Fredericksburg area.  And, we didn't see much south of Fredericksburg when we road down to Medina/Leakey and did the 3 sisters (I have been wanting to say that in a context that wouldn't get me in trouble!).

Enjoy your ride and be safe, the extra traffic stopping to look at flowers can increase your pucker factor by having to stop some place you really don't want to stop.

Below are some samples!  First Hiway 16 South of Llano

Wish I could go now. What is the time frame for wild flowers, March to May? Great photo!

I believe March to May, but you could probably stretch that depending on the weather.   You might contact the Fredericksburg chamber of commerce or other entities for current bloom stats also.
