"The" Donald has been all over that like white on rice.  He was proposing a 30% (if I remember correctly) tax on Mexico made cars and trucks Ford tries to sell in America.  That would learn 'em.

Yep.  Read that in the Detroit News earlier today.  Indeed Trump was talking about this months ago proposing a 35 percent tariff ( and that my friends is how Mexico pays for the wall, at least indirectly )  I would think 35 percent might be on the high side but I am sure an equitable figure can be achieved.  This was how we funded our government, it may have been the primary method in any case is was a good portion of it until the creature from Jekyll Island took effect, that being the income tax ( which was outlawed in the constitution ).

Back in 1864 or 1865 when plans to build the transcontinental railroad were bantered.  A large faction wanted us to buy the steel from England ( at time they were cheapest due to Henry Bessemer process ).  A wise man said if England makes the steel we will have the steel and they will have the money.  However if we make the steel we will have the steel and we will have the money.  That wise man was Abraham Lincoln.

Yep, kinda old news, but, at least its out there now.

Other manufacturers have left Mexico, found out it didn't pay off very well for them. My grandfather always said his cheapest help was his most expensive help. I think Ford is failing to learn from history.

But, Ford is not the only auto maker to close some doors in America and move elsewhere.

So you agree that the buyer in the USA should pay a 30% premium for a Ford Mexico car?

How many of you have a pension plan that has a Ford component?

If you do don't you think you should be divesting of that component RIGHT NOW?

If not why not?

How many others have pension plans with a Ford component? You want to deny them a pension plan with a sensible growth rate?

I like Trump's idea of cutting off the transfer of cash out of the country.  The migrant workers send home millions of dollars, usually untaxed, that goes directly into the Mexican economy.

Obama scoffed at this idea as if they're not already doing this in other cases.  I wanted to send to money to may daughter in Washington D.C. and was asked by the money sender what the money was for.  I didn't think that it was any of their business (western union), but they wouldn't continue with the transaction until I told them something.  I think I said school supplies.  I'm sure we there's a way to stop the money train.

Why did we allow Mexico to become dependent on us?  We're the ones buying the goods, hiring the workers, supplying the cash that leaves, buys the drugs, harbors the criminals, etc.

And now we're gonna do the same with Cuba.  Cuba can trade with the entire rest of the world if it wants.  They get vacationers from Canada, Europe, South America, and the rest of the Caribbean, but the people still live in squaller.  Only the U.S.A.'s money is gonna make Cuba better.

bho said that it would not be good for mexico if we stopped the transfer of American dollars to mexico. Said they are a poor country and it would be very hard on them if we stopped that flow of millions of dollars  into mexico  ??? What !  Good GOD man !!  Why isnt he concerned about American citizens in this country that we need to keep up the bleeding, keep American dollars going out of the USA.  MILLIONS of dollars !  This came from the same guy who said he wouldn't wear the American flag lapel pin because  "he didn't want it to look like he was taking sides" !!!!  He said that early in his first term.  Why would'nt the potus NOT have America's best interest at heart. More concerned for mexico and their future.  WOW !!  It has been said "you get the government you deserve" . Not me...I didn't vote for him,  not one time

Can we take deductions on our taxes for contributions to this needy country?

Maybe the trend will continue so that all of the illegals will go back to Mexico to get jobs.
