We went to the beach, its always a nice ride down the Emerald Coast in NW Florida.  Judy wanted to stop at this beachy tourist trap shop because they sell sea shells that her Hermit crabs need.  So we went clothes shopping for crabs.

Well just happened that where I decided to park there were a couple deer standing at the edge of the woods.  OK, YES they're fake deer.........buts its still a cool picture.

Judy's favorite crab...this guy is a tad bigger than a softball

When we go places, Judy tells people she has crabs, then she asks if they want to see them.... Shocked

She carries this and other pictures Always

Kids, I can relate, kids had to have an Iguana, the pet shop said they don't bite. My son used to apply a harness and leash at times when outside incase the big lizard got away. One morning I was trying to go to work but my son could not don that harness and insisted I help. While doing so that lizard reached around and clamped down on my finger. I could not get my finger loose and when I tried to work it loose the Iguana would clamp down harder I could even see his eyes close as he used all his force. Luckly their teeth are just a boney looking surface, but even then I was bleeding. He finally started getting tired and I slowly worked my finger loose, I told my son to wait till later and put him back in his tank, I was almost late for work! They can bite.

Pretty good mental image there!  I had to laugh when picturing that squinting little bastard clamping down like a scaly green vise.

Grin I have been bitten a couple times by my Veiled Chameleon. He's a mean little sucker. Wonder if starving a chameleon for a couple 3 days is animal abuse?  Grin I'm a member of a chameeleon forum and they talk like they take their lizards to vets all the time like you would a dog. I'm sorry but at the end of the day it's just a lizard. I refuse to take mine to the vet and they are medicated when needed here at home. Yes I'm a self proclaimed lizard veterinarian  Grin haven't killed any yet.

Just to keep it on topic...
Judy says chopped up lizards would make pretty good hermit crab food as long as it's dehydrated

We had a 10+ year old horned frog, and that boy would try to take your finger off.  No teeth, but a very sharp bony jagged ridge would draw instant blood, with real power for a grip... and if he lightened up his grip, he'd just jump a quarter inch up your finger.  (Started with a pair, but at the 3-4 year point, he ate her whole)

Lethargic in appearance, only moving with necessary, and eyes open full time, you could never tell if it was sleeping or not.  Once fully mature, he could beat your very best reflex hand jerk back every time if you got too close, and he did not telegraph his leap with so much as a muscle-flex or blink.

The wife fed him giant crawlers and insisted on hand feeding the little monster, and big worms and fingers look pretty much the same.  The one time he got me, I seriously thought about slamming the door on the part of him without my finger it it.  Got her many times (stupid game).  It was not my pet.

He got so big, he should have been eating pinkies (small white mice), but I never mentioned it as the white mice would have just become the wife's new hobby/pets.  When she first got them, the frogs were smaller than a 50 cent piece.  They're sorta cute at that age, later they become small T-rex's.
