I have, put 24k miles on mine before I sold it.  Loved the bike (get the red one), and it rode better than my 1800 Valk.  It was heavy, but after a few hundred miles Handling was not an issue.  Took several long trips with a 'T-bag' strapped to the Corbin backrest.

One concern is parts - people are hoarding them, and that will become more of a problem as things break and wear out.  But if you want to get attention, nothing does it like a Rune on a sunny day.

Thanks  steve, I was looking at maybe getting  the Suzuki m109r until I saw the Rune. If getting  parts is going  to be a hassle maybe  a 1800 valkyrie  would be better.

It was last summer during the week on the Indy MotoGP.  I was in Pendelton, IN, (Anderson, Indy suburb) as a Speedway.  Coming back out of the Speedway a tall crotch rocket rider was admiring my Valkyrie.  He asked if mine and we talked.  He owned a motorcycle mobile tire business  next door and asked if I wanted to see his Rune.  Well heck yah.  He had several older restored Hondas and a beautiful low milage black Rune.  It was first time I really looked it over.  What a beauty.

Since parts may be scarce it might best be used instead of an everyday rider, as just a go to bar or motorcycle show bike.  That is how I would treat it anyway and keep it covered and vented, that is if I  had more money than sense.

get one if you got money burning a whole in your pocket.   Evil

I for one won't buy a cycle or ATV or any vehicle just to admire and bar hop with.  I try to keep miles off my dailer commuters as much as possibly by taking the Valk or scooter to work, etc.,  Heck,  I even have taken my ATV's 15 miles one way to work a few times for a change of pace.  But, just to have a vehicle of any kind just sitting there not being ran much doesn't make too much sense to me.  Although,  if kept in low mileage,  that Honda Rune (as am sure collector cars) will hold their value for a long time to come I guess if into that sort of thing.
