When he saw the truck slowing down he should have figured what was going to happen.

Watching the gif, I don't think that the following truck had the brake lights on until the bike pulled out. Looks like a really easy mistake to make, all 3 of them are very lucky. Hopefully he was able to pull it back off the grass and didn't go in the ditch after that save.

i guessing that might be a illegal move based on speed(over the limit) or just a multiple car pass is frowned upon in a lot of places.
Ride like everyone is going to kill you and you should get home OK

I don't think he saw the second vehicle on initiating the pass. The lesson to be learned here is to pass with care and be sure you can see, have accounted for, the full path of the pass.

What Willow said. Both vehicles had brake lights. The pickup had already slowed enough to make his turn. The tanker was blocking the pickup from view for the scooter and the the pickup couldn't see the bike because of the tanker as well. There wasn't a a place to make a right so the left turn was pretty much a given and could be seen. I would assume (there it is) that the tanker was going to turn and was not using a blinker? Biker error is all. Plus, on an approaching vehicle all blinkers prove is that they "work". I don't trust them at all. I wait until the turn is started before I move.
