MPG difference between going 60 mph and 70 mph?

I'm just wondering if anybody has checked the difference in MPG's from cruising at 60 compared to 70? My friend has a F6B and since he hasn't a computer, I mentioned I would ask here. He drives very conservatively and for the most part I do to with my F6C... He has made 42 mpg, 47 mpg, and 46 mpg, thus far checking, and this is easy driving with varying the speed. Any info would be much appreciated, as i am curious too with the C model, as well. He is still in the break-in mode, so vary speed and etc. I just finished my break in, but weather up here has turned cold and some rain...so I haven't had a chance to check myself.  Thank you......

I  checked my mileage only once , 41.7 mpg.   That was after the break in time.
I do NOT drive conservatively , I enjoy working the throttle .

I have never been concerned with mpg , geees , my car gets 20 mpg

  I figured it to the exact amount. 45 at 60, 44.9 at 70!!! ha ha ha  But really, you will always make better mileage 10 slower because everything has less drag. He could pump his tires to 60psi and push it if he wants to make more than 45. Tell him to enjoy and not worry about it

All I know is that in Paris and suburbs, I'm 35.10 MPG, most of the time. Last week I rode everyday outside Paris, mostly on highways, up to 87 mph and it was 41.26 MPG.

+3  (well... subtract 1 MPG from each number, but I was 2 up and loaded down HEAVY on a '14 Wing)

I did achieve 50 MPG once... running ethanol free gas between 45 & 55 mph for about 150 miles without stopping.  Same trip as my previously stated numbers.  It was a very nice slow sweeper road... I did NOT want to stop.

Thank you all for responses.... So true, so fun.. I'm looking forward to nice weather up here again.... I did get over 1000 miles on her so far, and looking forward to the next chance I get to get out. This bike is my favorite out of the fifty some I have owned.....

You're still early in the game... you'll find the mileage increases a tad bit in the first 10K to 20K miles. 

It won't be a BIG difference, maybe 1 or 2 mpg (3 at the most)... but you will pick up a little bit over time.

Even the old 1500 Valks under 65 mph will get pushing 40 mpg at best, but once hit near 70 mph and up looking at 35-36 mpg tops.

Personally,  I think anything over 35 avg mpg is perfectly fine gas mileage, but over 40 mpg for such a big engine bike is very good but my guess is have to drive under 55 mph for a long stretch to do that.

Trying to get and stay at 55mph seems pretty much impossible  My mileage comes alot closer to Ledany

I track my mileage with an android app, aCar, I have 31,000 miles on my bike and have been tracking it from day 1.

Here are the stats;

Avg MPG: 38.25
Last MPG: 37.76
Min MPG: 28.32
Max MPG: 52.01

I've been all over the US, and found that at higher elevations it gets better MPG than at sea level. This being said it also gets better millage under 60mph. when I went through Yellowstone the speed limit in the park was max 55. and it's at high elevation, that's when I got the 52mpg.

                                                  When I am just crusing around and enjoying the ride, now with over 14,000 miles on the bike I get 42 to almost 46 MPG..... BUT when im out doing the, ya its fast, thing, watch this.... or so you think yours can go ??? lets see, then it drops to like 35, 37,MPG...
                                     on my 1998 Valkyrie 150, 155 miles and it was time to gas up...Now out on our Sunday walkabouts, I can easily go 210,225 before it gets thirsty, but we usually stop before that cause someone else needs, something OH YA   POTTY STOP
