At approx. 12:30 pm on Tuesday the 19th. I had a HEART ATTACK!!! YIPE. I have never in my life been in so much pain. Got transported to the Hospital in Greenville SC were I had 3 stents placed in the Large artery on the back side of my heart.....Left there on Thursday with a 5 gallon bucket of meds to take.... 2 of which are blood thinners that are causing my blood pressure to be to low. My normal pressure is in the 120 over 75 range.....The meds have it at 90 to 95 over 55 to 60. This makes me dizzy and lite headed. Saw my general practitioner Friday for a referral to a Cardiologist nearer to where I live. That appt. is for next Friday the 29th. Until then I'm on hold and have no idea what I'm looking at for recovery time. No big worries...I'll be fine....cept for being dizzy and having a head ache I feel fine. And for all of you that think it won't happen to you......well I always thought that as well....THEN KABOOOOOM!!!!

I have very mixed emotions at hearing this. On the one hand I really hate to hear that this happened to you. It caught me completely off guard. On the other hand I am so glad they caught it in time and dealt with it. That's scary stuff.

Also glad you are still on this side of the ground. You are a very lucky one, according to coronary statistics. The good news is that many report feeling better and more energetic after having the resulting medical treatments than they have in decades. Sorry your experience was the emergency kind. Take good care of yourself, make the dietary and lifestyle changes if necessary, and do what your doctor's ask of you.
I'll pray for your full recovery.

glad you got in when you did and realized what was going on.
A lady's husband around only age 48 had a heart attack was overweight but not horribly bad. Had a few stents put in as well and he is loosing weight and watching what he eats scaring him nearly to death. It can be months before you get to feeling better than when it was going bad but can be done.
Take care!

Sorry that you had a heart attack. But good to know you beat the odds and are still with us. And, at least so far, you got by with just stents. That too is a very big plus. Coronary bypass surgery really sucks.
As for following doctors orders, I suggest you listen to the doctors but do your own research and then follow your own intelligence. I say this because they have nearly killed me with their drugs several times now. There is no doubt the docs have saved my life with operations. However, when I have just accepted their advice on drugs, I ended up in bad shape. The last time I tried that, I knew better but wanted to go along with the doctor, it caused me to have a stroke. Now, if I do not feel right about it, I tell them no. This is serving me well. Your results may be different but probably best if you do your own research.

Mark...I'm not a doctor just a medic..,.But, some of your dizziness can be from your heart functioning properly along with the "bucket" full of meds. Take it easy for a bit and it should subside. You will feel much better than you have as time goes on.

Glad you made it thru the hard part ok.I came close but had doctor open me up before it happened.Ended up with a metal heart valve.Been on bloodthiners since then. The best thing you can do is get out and walk to keep the blood moving.I walked twice a day and at 2 weeks I was able to walk from 1 doctors office to another 1 1/2 mile away. When he saw me he said I had recovered extremely fast for what I had done. The thiners are a pain but you'll get used to them but that pressure is way to low.You need to get help ASAP.

Wow, hate to hear this. Hope you're all well soon. My younger sister had an attack October 4, 2015. She also got three stents...did cardiac rehab for a couple months I think. She's doing well now, says the rehab really helped. Hope you're doing rehab and healing well.

Mark, that BP is too low. After my episode four years ago I had the same problem as you....I'd turn in my chair to answer the phone and almost end up on the floor. Finally the dr. kept cutting the dosage back over a few weeks time and cut out one BP pill altogether. Works out fine now, but I sure couldn't function on anything below 105/60. I average about 10 points higher now and with a pulse in the high 40's- low 50's, I found I can do anything I want. It just didn't happen overnight so move into exercise slowly and carefully. Glad to hear they caught it, I can sure relate to the intense pain. Like a hot knife going in my back below the shoulder and coming out through my chest. And sweating like a hooker in church.

Like everyone said glad they got your pipes opened back up Mark and that you got released and doing well. And like Britman said of all people it happened to a guy that doesn't have any bad habits. Well maybe riding a motorcycle could be considered a bad habit by some.

Like everyone has said, I am in total shock in hearing about this. And as also been said, listen to what your doctors tell you and ask questions if in doubt or want more clarification. The really good news, once the meds are figured out there should be no problem riding.
