You can check this story yourself, but we had family living in that area and they told us the city fathers were made to look like idiots because of this. Regardless of political bent, I found it rather amusing.

When Trump purchased and rebuilt Mar-A-Lago, the grand mansion and estate in Palm Beach,  Florida, he got into a dispute with the city fathers who are well known for being strict on zoning regulations. Trump put up a 50-foot flag pole even though 30 feet is the maximum allowed to not be overly patriotic and offend other nationalities.

The city imposed a $1,000 per day fine while Trump and city officials argued back and forth. Finally, when the fine had reached a total of $120,000 Trump proposed a solution. He would donate that amount to veteran's organizations, would move the flag to a different spot in front of the mansion, and would only use a 30 foot flagpole. The city agreed.

So Trump brought in the company that does his golf course construction, had them build a 20-foot high grassy hill, and put the 30-foot flag pole on top of that.

Now, would you rather have Trump negotiating an Iranian deal, or any deal, or would you rather have Hildabeast spending another four years bowing down?

Something similar happened right here in Orlando. A builder wanted to put up some townhouses next to a lake but what he proposed was against the rules. The structure can be just so high above the ground in that area around the lake so what did he do....he had his construction crew build up the ground level in the area. It was raised enough to give the residents the view they would have had if the original construction had been OK'd.

These people aren't well off because they're stupid.  Wink

At one of Trump's newly acquired properties in Palos Verdes, Ca,  probably Trump National Golf Club, a situation presented itself.  One of the meeting rooms  needed to be for 300 hundred and at present only could hold 200 hundred.  To get permits and and through the regulatory process in CA was going to take many months before construction to expand could even begin.  Trump came in and looked at the room.   He had the 200 seats taken out and replaced with 300 hundred seats that were a bit smaller and the problem was solved most quickly and inexpensively.

Yesterday he and the Secret Service ingenuity was again on display getting him into the Burlingame, CA Hyatt around the crowd of Bolshevick Sanders and Crooked hillary crowd.  I think they are still there waiting for him to leave.

Unless the room was rated for 300 he still couldn't do that as the problem isn't the numer of chairs, it's the number of people "occupancy load". During a fire or some diaster people can't exit fast enough.

No one said it was only rated for 200 but that was all the seating it had. It could have been rated for many more.

If permits were needed for construction to increase the size, I'd say it was limited to 200 seats.

Any construction would require a permit. Once again two different views of the same situation.
