Sorry to brag, but I'm bursting... My eldest spawn Kali and her team were just awarded 1st place for the Texas state Academic Pentathlon for 7th graders.

She and her team are going to Boise Idaho for the National championship in Boise Idaho May 19-21st...

Woot! Woot! Woot! Very proud daddy here... (And wondering who her REAL father is?!?!?!)

Congratulations it is good to see young people doing good things it makes me feel like there may actually be a future for america  things like these are what you should be reading about or seeing on TV but of course all we ever see is the negativity and hate sure is a shame ...again congratulations!!!!!!

Non academic question:  Is she the tallest in her class?

I think she said she's the tallest in her grade but there are a few 8th graders taller than her. (Mostly boys I think)

At 13 she's somewhere north of 5'10" and we're thinking there's a good chance she'll pass her almost 6' mom by the end of summer.

...and good point... maybe I am her real dad afterall? Wink

Congrats to you and your wife for guidance given this pretty young lady. And just for kicks, you should do as I did with a couple of my daughters re. braces. They came in late a couple times after a date so I brought out some pictures of them from 2-3 yrs. prior showing all that hardware. They have long since forgiven me....so they say.  2funny

The braces pictures will definitely be kept on reserve and ready to come out as needed, but any potential date/boyfriend will be getting a copy of this one up front:

More proud daddy moments, HER rules, before any dating gets serious a potential boyfriend has to pass 3 tests:

-Go to the renaissance faire and be deemed acceptable by the group of kilted sword wielding Scotsman we're associated with.

-Go to HotGlue and FB's BBQ and be deemed worthy by our VRCC/Motorcycle brethren.

-Go to our land/private shooting range and prove he knows how to handle a firearm as well as driving home the fact that her daddy has 18 secluded acres with many prime locations to dispose of organic material.

Yup... smart kid...

Serk, congratulations to Kali and her team and there is no call to be embarrassed about posting something like this, it's a great accomplishment and you should be proud and so should your daughter and the entire team.

It's so common for students to get great recognition for sports and such and academic achievements seem to get over looked.

I wish you and Kali a big pat on the back and hope they continue to do well.

Congratulations that is awesome cooldude That last pic of the 2 is really good. But between the brains and the skills I don't think you'll have to worry to much about the wrong boy. I think you'll have to worry will he be able to keep up with her.
