Hello all

Just got my Valkyrie last week and need some buds to ride with.  I have a group for dual sporting with the KLR but I don't think I will be taking the Valkyrie on anything more difficult that a graded forest service road.

Love to meet some fellow cruisers for day rides or camping trips.

I'm 100 miles west of Redding. I no longer have the Valk, but if you find yourself riding to the coast I'd be happy to kick tires and talk the Valk language with you. I've got some odd bits of Valk hardware, including the owners manual if you need one. I have a fair amount of hard copy maintenance and repair info that may as well go to a good home. Do you have the OEM passenger backrest and luggage rack? No other (active) Valks around this neck of the woods that I'm aware of.  sheets

Hey Sheets

Good to meet you.  I am about 100 miles east of you.  I appreciate the offer for the manual and other literature and would love to take you up on it and pay for the privilege.

I am new to Valkyries and have spent the last ten years riding a KLR.  I have been through your neck of the woods many times on the KLR and really enjoy 299, 96, and Bald Hills Road.  I plan on talking Titlow to Happy Camp this summer.

I will be out your way in the next month and would like to BS and talk Valkyries.  Pick your brain.

Beautiful area we call home.

Talk to you soon, Matt

I have the stock seat and backrest I believe.  Not luggage rack...yet.

Titlow to Happy Camp?  Does not compute in my cranial GPS. Titlow Hill road takes off from 299 at Berry Summit, and comes out on Hwy 36.  Happy Camp is 80 miles from me on Hwy 96.

The reason I ask about passenger backrest and Hondaline luggage rack . . . the rack fastens to the passenger backrest.  I fab'd a piece of aluminum diamond plate that clamps onto the luggage rack, thus enlarging the foot print of the rack creating several more square inches of platform to comfortably secure a larger piece of luggage. I still have the DIY rack attachment. If your bike did not come to you with the small luggage rack, I believe you will be hard pressed to find one after all these years being out of production.  Just a thought on my part.

Have tentative plans to be out of the area for a couple weeks in June. Drop a note when you think about heading west.  sheets

I was thinking 96 so I was thinking Happy Camp.  I meant Mad River.  Highway 36.

Duh.

I live in Santa Rosa, ridden the Redding Crescent City down the 101 loop a couple of times with another buddy. If were in the area again I'll post up.
