I guess it comes with age. Brother had a cow valve put in 2 months ago, brother in law has his heart bouncing all over the place an spent a bunch of $ trying to figure it out and says he thinks as long as he takes his pill every 12 hrs his heart may stay in rythem.  I had a close cousin should of been dead 2 months ago doing supposedly well end up dying at the U of Madison Hosp. to day as I was going to a Hosp. For an angiograhm an a couple of stints. Well for me I had a Quad bypass 12 years ago an the day I could go back to work I was also scheduled for vacation an jumped on the bike an headed for Inzane in Paducah. Today Doc. Says I have 1 of the 3 I had replaced  to pluged to do anything and as long as the other 3 are not that bad yet says it doesn't pay to replace just the one. Also I have a bunch of small vanes pluged. That don't sound good to me, but he wants to max me out on drugs for now yet no move on the drugs till I see him next week. This don't sound good to me . I asked him if I should drink more beer but he won't endorse that.  I guess yes I will die some day but I don't have to be on diealliss or cemo an told I only have 2 weeks to live like some people I know so I can still count my blessings.

Greg, age is an enemy of the body for sure. I am 67 and have lived a blessed life so have few regrets. Lost my wife at age 59 to cancer. In 2000, I was diagnosed with A-Fib. I was being treated by a leading cardiologist in Springfield, IL. Fortunately medicine controlled my heartbeat for 7 years. Then the meds quit working. I spent the next two years trying various meds and had three surgical procedures to try and fix the problem. Nothing worked. On March 8, 2008, I was told that there was nothing they could do for me and released me from their care. I was given a life expectancy of 5-8 years so I guess I am living on borrowed time. Have been to two other Heart Centers and was given the same story. My heart is never in rhythm and I am very limited on what I can do due to weakness. I have accepted my fate and adjusted my life accordingly. I can still ride and I truly enjoy my life, kids, grandkids, and many friends. Best wishes to you.

Hef, God be with you my friend !    I'll be 65 the end of August and figure I've got a beautiful family and have never saved for retirement but I have always enjoyed life an I will continue to enjoy life.  I put up with my leg and bad back taking alive but I can't believe the consent pain covering my whole left chest is caused by the one plugged artery an the bunch of little ones. It seems that would be progressive not something that would just happen, this pain came on all of a sudden unless there was maybe some sort of explosion in my chest.    I was going to spring for some bannana splits on the way home last night but the wife an daughter wouldn't hear of it ha ha, I suppose I'll have to cut back on them brats  a little but I'm putting my foot down that path meal is out of the question.        We won't be making Inzane this year to party with yous as I've got other things to do nothing to do with my body. Looks like it'll be another week before I get it out of storage.so for yous that are going have a great time.
