G'day to Everyone!

I have been lurking in the background for the past month since I became the proud owner of my "New to Me" 98 Valkyrie.

She has 43,000 km on her and in quite good shape, but not knowing the service history I stripped her right down for a good birthday.  All nuts and bolts Creeeked their way out as they were bone dry, swing arm and steering column were last lubricated in the factory on assembly.

I found the right timing belt tensioner bolts were left loose and very lucky that the belt did not skip a tooth/teeth and gave rise to catastrophic failure, the belt was rubbing the ignition pulse generator.  Shocked

Still awaiting "O" rings and a couple of gaskets before I can take her out for a ride again.

I have a few questions about carb jetting and mixture screw settings but that will come in the 1500 tech forum a little later.

I also have a 1988 GL-1500, a 1975 GL-1000 that I am restoring, a 1976 GL-1000 that I am fitting a sidecar to and a 1978 GL-1000 in the shadows awaiting restoration (and two more GL-1000's that are now deceased for parts).

Will post some photos when I can work out how to do it.

Best wishes to All and hoping to get to know some of you  cooldude

Peter.
