If you think about Vietnam we fought an action or limited war over a system of government or ideology.

If you think about the war on terror what are we fighting, a limited war or an action on a system of government or ideology.

I guess we didn't learn the first time or the people who made money decided things were a bit slow.

The Matrix and the Architect

As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly ninety-nine percent of the test subjects accepted the program provided they were given a choice - even if they were only aware of it at a near-unconscious level. While this solution worked, it was fundamentally flawed, creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that, if left unchecked, might threaten the system itself. Ergo, those who refused the program, while a minority, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster.

If there is one thing I've learned from history is that we don't learn from history.

she'll be 79 on December 21.  had breast cancer in 2010. so maybe not to far off.
I still pray for her salvation, because that is what really matters. she has turned from her pure atheist beliefs and is calling herself a Christian since '05.

Morley Safer was a journalist. Bergdahl was active duty military. Big differences in my opinion. He may have gotten the story of Cam Ne wrong, he may have not reported everything he knew. I don't know. Regardless I don't see how either could possibly make him a traitor.
Quote
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
Article 3 sec 3 US constitution
By selectively reporting only the things that made the US look bad, he aided the NVA which directly affected the actual war fighting. It is not a stretch to say that he was engaged in the propaganda arm of the war on the NV's side thus levying war against the US because he was engaged in knowingly reporting half truths.
Reporting the village burnt is OK, IF you complete the story stating that the village was a known haven for VC or NVA or a supply dump.

And you know what Morley Safer knew at the time ? I understand this is close to the hearts of you guys who fought over there. But if we are going to start accusing our journalists of treason because their reporting doesn't comport with what we see we are no better than some Banana Republics.
Banana Republic reporting is one sided propaganda. So a person who calls out a propagandist isnt fomenting a banana republic, he is advocating against one.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

A little disappointed, thought maybe Hanoi Jane got her just dues.

Careful there ATL-Jerry,
Fonda is a hero to the left.  You just might get pounced upon . I served during Viet Nam. No one ever spit on me, but I was prepared.  There toward the end we were told to not travel in uniform inside the U.S.  There WAS the anti war media then and Rather and Safer WAS a part of that army.  Today many believe we (U.S.) should have never used the AB on Japan to end that war.  It saved two million lives (best intell estimate) , one million on both sides.  It DID end that war,...It was the right thing to do .

Ride safe (another biker killed locally)
