As of now, that's how it looks for two reasons. First, my wife's health is in question, really going downhill as of late(getting transfusions and infusions), and I don't feel comfortable leaving her even though her kids offered to cover for me. Plus, I hate leaving her behind while I go off somewhere and enjoy myself without her because she's no longer able to travel. That really bothers me and of course, she fusses at me for feeling that way.  The other reason was I really needed new tires on the SUV, two were past the top of the wear bars and two were just hitting them. There was no way I was going to tow the bike with those tires. So in the end.....there went the majority of my travel budget(big tires ain't cheap). The tires were needed regardless, and were more important than a trip in my view. Granted, I could do it all on a credit card....but I won't. The tires were paid for in cash.

So, as they say in sports....wait until next year. Just seems like "next year" never comes these days. You all have fun, and as I tell my various grandsons; don't do anything I wouldn't.  Wink

Sorry to read this, John, but understand completely. Think about revising your statement to "Don't do anything I wouldn't enjoy..."

Sorry to hear that, John. But you're really a good man who has his priorities in order.
Maybe next year we can both make it again!

And I was looking forward to meeting you and others I only know via this medium. I've met many others at various InZanes over the years and it's always kinda fun to put a face with a name. As for my wife, it's a long story...goes back to 2001 and then a second issue in 2004 when she was diagnosed with a couple long term afflictions. She's taken a downturn in recent weeks so I have no idea where it will lead in the near future. Both issues are incurable, can only treat the symptoms and that's becoming nearly impossible now. Seems the body develops a tolerance for the meds, but we keep trying. If things should change on both fronts....her health and available funds, then I might be able to attend but it's doubtful.

Hate to hear this John.  But family does come first and things, such as medical bills,  can drain finances very quickly.  Take care of your wife and your finance.  I will look forward to seeing you at some other gathering.

I can understand that, John.
Maybe a scotch next year although it gets hard to plan as we age.

"Doing the right thing, even when it's tough," is among the things I admire most about you, John. You'll be missed, of course, but we all completely understand... Best regards to Rita, and we'll se ya again when we see ya.

If doing the "right" thing was always easy, it would always get done.   You will be missed, was looking forward to meeting you.   But, there will be a "next" year.   Hopefully your and my circumstances will allow me to buy you a cold iced tea and catch some wind then.    cooldude
