I think he may be thinking about Gingrich as Vice President
Newt is smart, can cut deals in congress, he did great with Bill Clinton (the last time the branches Executive and Legislative got anything done) and his baggage has been out there for almost a decade. No new scandals
Plus the man can debate  like nobody else around

Who else do you think would be a choice?

In my opinion he should pick someone with a lot of knowledge of the inner workings of government and who has widespread respect. Robert Gates, Colin Powell come to mind. With that said I am batting about .103 on figuring out what the guy is doing.  Shocked

I'd love Newt (rather have him for president), but I don't think that helps Don get elected.

would love to know his cabinet choices when he leaves the convention

A dream team shows his plan of attack for our nation's many issues

Powell like Rice, is probably not interested but its an interesting thought meat.

I'm thinking he's gonna be under a lot of pressure to pick a black or a woman, but we'll see...

Now, if he were to pick Mia Love, THAT would be AWESOME...

John Kasich - From Ohio, important electoral state, generally a good record at the State and Federal level.
Senator and Governor.

I like Newt as well but his history would not serve well as it would be a target rich environment for the democrats. I do see Newt in a Cabinet position. Possibly Sec. of State.

Newt has told Hannity that he does not want to hold any more positions

I have heard Newt interviewed many times lately and by Hannity several times.  He said he did not expect this to happen, but if his country came calling he could probably not say no.  I just think he is told old to have the energy needed for this, but a cabinet position is possible.  I also like the idea of Herman Cain.  I think Rubio would be a great choice due to his energy and intense nature.  A woman also would be a good choice, but not sure who that would be, maybe Condalisa Rice.  Trump has said often he wants an insider to help with Congress.  Do not overlook Christy.  John Kasich's head right now is somewhere else.  I think there are a few good choices.  Anyway I love the offense he is displaying and really bringing it to the Crook and has passed her by in the polls already.  I am not sure the last time a Republican was ahead at this stage, it maybe all the way back to 1984.  He put out a strategy of campaigning hard in what he calls 15 or so battleground states and has put Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin in play.  He said he is going after California and New York also.  That may be a bridge to far but I say go for it anyway it can only help and shows folks Nationwide that unlike the past two elections this man fights.

I had really hoped Cruz could have had the number two spot. He's probably one of the foremost living Constitutional experts which is a strength Thump doesn't have. But, I would assume there is too much bad blood between them now for that. Cruz would make a very good Supreme Court justice though!

I suppose Rand Paul might be in the running too.

With all the hate and violence being generated by Hillary and Bernie's side I really hope he picks someone strong enough to run the country if something happens to him. Not just someone who will help him get elected.

He has a big challenge ahead of him.  He has said he will likely choose someone with political background.  That would be to offset the resistance to his being a complete outsider.

In this country there is a subset that is solid left and a subset that is solid right.  The secret to getting elected is influencing a significant number of the folks (voters) in the middle.  Newt Gingrich would be a great vice president but he's had too much bad press to be a real help during the election.  I think Condoleezza Rice would be excellent as she would have in the past few elections but I don't see it happening either from her side or the Donald's.

My first thought was Bozo the Clown but he might be embarrassed to accept.  then I realized the man who can save us all doesn't need a VP.  Why he can do it all himself and better than anyone else. Why bother  crazy2 besides I strongly suggest no serious politican with a future is going to be willing to attach themselves to this train wreck.
the only train wreck that will happen is if lieing clition gets back in and I hope everyone that votes of her is on that train to hell

you want me to spend eternity burning in the fires of hell?  Seems a little extreme. By "lieing lillyon" you mean Clinton?

Would never wish anyone to hell.  Certainly not a Christian nor kind thing to do at all. But not surprised to see it here. I'm a 70 year old political moderate.  No socialist leanings at all. Maybe it just seems that way from the fringe.
