That was a very creative and clever build by someone.

I enjoy humor, maybe not as much as some.  There is nothing, however, that shows us American assholes how little we are as fully as is evident when our humor is fueled by making fun of people with lesser opportunities.

I don't care how much I had to drink, I'm not riding on that thing.

It did 1000 times better than the first ejection seat I was slated to ride in. Was glad we were going rather slow, the throttle jockey flipped the plane upside down and I dropped out. So much for my confidence in new technology at that time. I think it was a modified T-6 used for such training, I was a punk kid of 19 at the time so not sure. When it was over they asked how I felt, told them "like a bat with incontinence." I didn't get right side up for a few seconds and had these visions of imbedding myself headfirst in the desert.

Don't laugh, looks like they're closer to being able to put a man into space than we are right now...  tickedoff

And for those who are interested, I believe this is from a Thai Rocket Festival:

And some more examples: (If nothing else, check out the one at the 1 minute mark)

It didn't seem to me as though anyone was being made fun of.
I thought it was funny and the folks that built that were talented. It took a lot of skill [ or pure dumb luck] to get that thing to fly as straight as it did.
If the title wasn't appreciated by some, so be it.

The title certainly identified it as making light of the rather tremendous accomplishment.  It also demonstrates the stupidity of the original titler (yes, I know you only copied the original title).  A device dependent upon air density (rotating wings) has obviously nothing to do with travel into space.

The "so be it" attitude in some venues would get your ass booted out.  I bend to the will of my colleagues so it doesn't here.  I do get tired of it, though.

Good for you Patrick .  It wasn't offensive, and anyone that took it as offensive WILL get over it quickly.

The more political correct we are forced to be the more the minority that seems to be continuously offended will increasingly demand we modify speech to please their misguided sensibilities.

We would be much better off as a society if more people just got over stuff

That was predictable on some many levels.

The part I would take exception to is the rather common application of the term political correctness to any communication for which we are admonished.  If you knew me at all you would know I am likely the least politically correct person you could encounter.  Perhaps my expectations are too high for some.

Dang, I thought it was pretty cool.   While I don't want to ride on it, if I was on the launch (fuse lighting) crew, I'd want a longer stick...........   I can't run as fast as the others.   2funny

I couldn't weld it to hold together regardless of what kind of wood I used.

Dang.  That was a huge surprise as to what I thought would happen.  Much cooler than an ordinary rocket.

Oh, I don't know about that.

So far this month, it has been implied that I'm a little on the impatient side and have been asked if I was aware that I could be a pain in the ass,  have also been called an Indian Giver and a Prick.   I haven't let that get to me (yet).  Wink

I see the humor in the title versus video but, I also think it's a pretty cool idea.

But, Ron, you are a pain in the ass and a prick.  I'd be a little pissed, though, at the Indian giver accusation.   Wink

I with Patrick, amazed it flew that straight.  Too much thrust here or too little thrust there and it could have ended up in downtown Orlando.  Of course, they may have had 100 launches that day and this is the only one that flew straight.

Saw that a couple of years ago. Very creative and impressive engineering. Sometimes seems like the poorer people are the more creative, ingenious and capable they become.

Same here  cooldude It would be neat to see in person, but after thinking about it I'd hate to be in the crowd if it went haywire.
