FIVE...Yes, only 5 more days until departure for Morgantown, stopping along the way in Fargo ND to hook up with as-yet-to-meet new friends and riding partners for the last half of the ride. Spent the better part of Sunday cleaning, checking, and tightening before giving the old girl a nice heavy coat of wax ... it'll be a few weeks before she looks this good again  Wink

Checked out of the office a couple hours early Monday afternoon to give her a good shake-down ride, and try out the new rubber front and back, new brakes, new timing belts, new AirHawk seat cushion on the tired old Corbin (experiment with a brand new Ultimate two weeks ago didin't go as well as I'd hoped so I sent it back), and new Sena bluetooth with a bunch of new tunes loaded on the phone.

Back roads behind the town of Mission ... rarely any traffic, lots of curves and mostly smooth pavement. Bike feels good and is running strong, I think she's looking forward to letting loose on a nice long ride again...I can tell she's excited  Wink

Only a couple of hours, but I'm liking the AirHawk so far. Fits perfect on the Corbin, and the Red & Black colours even match Grin

Stave Lake .... one of many man-made lakes in BC dammed for hydroelectricity production ... lake view, and river view. Word is that the name "Stave" was derived from a cedar mill that was operational on the lake, with one of its main products being barrel staves (I wasn't around back then to corroborate that story Wink) Right off of this dam a complete town was constructed for the filming  of a Robert De Niro / Sean Penn film "We're No Angels" back in 1989 (movie sucked... I watched it back then because it was filmed at Stave Lake where we've boated for decades).

On the way back home for dinner through Hatzic Valley...just a lone road winding through rolling hills and pasture. I sure hope this weather holds for departure date on Saturday. This will be a rarity for me, a 3 week ride without my co-pilot of 35 years, but I'm looking forward to riding through regions in the US I've never travelled before, and meeting and making many new friends. Wishing all those attending a safe ride to Morgantown cooldude cooldude

Great report, beautiful country. cooldude

I like my airhawk.  But I have even been sore on it a couple times on long rides.  Besides moving your feet between the hwy pegs and the controls to change the pressure points on your backside, sometimes changing the air in the cushion, or moving it up or back on the seat, or even taking it off for awhile can give relief.   (A corbin is what made me buy it in the first place) (don't leave it on the seat at stops, it's too easy to walk off with)

Take care on the long ride down.

Great country... my Mother-in-law is in Canada right now, near Toronto... you're
way far from there, but she said it was 90 degrees there yesterday...

I don't know how many different seats Ultimate makes for Interstates - they
make three flavors for STD/Tourers... if there's a different one than the one you
sent back, you can probably try it out at InZane, the Ultimate guy will be there...

I respectfully submit that anticipation is building and excitement growing.

Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.   cooldude

There will be those I should probably avoid, I surely don't wish to be a pain in the ass to anyone while this event is going on.    I'll do my best to avoid such interactions.   Embarrassed

2funny dang, his statement really got to you.  Shocked If you are going to Inzane to avoid some people, you'd probably be better off not going at all.  coolsmiley

Yeah, I seriously considered that briefly.   But, I've already committed to a camp site and another person or two that also committed to staying in my RV.   I surely don't want the allegation of being an "Indian Giver" to be accurate so, I bought and paid for my ticket, I'll be getting on the ride.    I may be a "Prick" but, I always keep my word.  Wink

Low profile is probably my best route.   Not that I'm very good at that.  Wink

May I assume you'll be attending?   If so, please bring an additional rain coat.  Size XL please.  Wink

Hence, the weather is usually guaranteed to rain enough with the first day or two to bake on some road muck. At least that's how it usually works for me. Have a great trip, the bike looks great by the way!  cooldude

Thx...that is what I was experimenting with last evening. Not the best solution this seat pad, but it'll do for the time being. I appreciate all the advice.
