Last week I was told that if you pull a trailer behind your bike, you are not allowed to take it on Mt Mitchell, you have to park them at the bottom. I have been to Mt Mitchell several times and do not recall ever seeing trailers parked anywhere along the road. I see no reason why you would not be allowed, the terrain is no different than the rest if the parkway.
Does anyone know anything about this? BTW I don't own a trailer, just asking for others planning to go there.

We went up last May, didn't see any signs about no trailers. Might be something new?

Thanks Jess. I called, and as I thought, there is no problem taking trailers up there. Haven't seen you around in awhile, are you going to Inzane?

Yes sir, Lord willing and the Creek don't rise.

Just last week I was bragging about having no low back problems for a long time.  I'm not generally superstitious, but writing/saying those kind of things is poking karma in the eye (and maybe just stupid).  I screwed it up pretty good a few days ago (slinging a shovel), but should hopefully be OK in another few days.  Meantime I am doing my best Walter Brennan gimping impression to the mailbox and back.

I will be at the campground, but at the hotel too.  You can't miss me, I'll have the black interstate.   Grin  (with blue dragons on the bags).  Or look for Walter Brennan.

Horse Honkey!!! You could drive an eighteen wheeler up to Mt. Mitchell. The highest point East of MS. River, but Blue Ridge is easy to ride.

I towed a camping trailer to the top of Pikes' Peak back in the early 80s. Last four miles we gravel/dirt!!
