Thanks for the suggestions. Q-tip too big.
I used a pipe cleaner to get between the metal piece and the glass.
Very limited room and access but just kept working at it using clean brake fluid.

A Q-tip?

Spray it with brake cleaner, then use the Q Tip.

But some paper towel in the reservoir first so crud doesn't get down the little hole.

Brake fluid is hydrophillic (water absorbing / bonding) The crud build up is from water in brake fluid or some other contaminant (obviously) fallout. It happens when the brake fluid cannot absorb any more water \ junk and the junk becomes semi-solid. When you refill with good clean brake fluid, the crud will re-liquify and absorb into the new fluid. Plan on changing the fluid again soon. As you do changes, it will last and look better longer on each change. The cleaner the brake fluid, the better the brake response.

.... Which reminds me ....  :-[ ... I need to change mine .....
