Ride Safe, Be Kind

Earth

« on: June 13, 2016, 06:33:18 AM »

Scary thought, right?  For anyone interested, below is a link to my blog detailing my trip from Los Angeles to Morgantown, there are plenty of pictures as well as some video.  It will have plenty of InZane pics and it will also cover my trip from Morgantown to Baton Rouge and then back to L.A.  New entry each night.  Damn, the people are nice here!

Well Mr. Alien I will live vicariously through you for this trip.  Life at present does not afford me the opportunity to make this venture ( though I do so wish I could and hope all who attend have a great time ) but business and family say not yet.  Also since we share a bit in common you are the right person.  I lived in LA ( Marina del Rey ) for a couple of years in the 80's then Palm Springs for 11 more.  Also you are an Alien. I saw an Alien once ( had other dealings with them since ) about 1958.  Fortunately you are much larger than the at most 4 foot  big tear drop eyed,  skinny grey I saw way back when and definitely  look more human.  You must be one of the Nordics.
Very much look forward to the continuing pics and adventures.

Not to hijack Aliens post. But in a separate post I'd be interested in hearing about your encounter.  cooldude

Awesome, Alien. I'm at work now and just skimmed it over. It looks to be an excellent writeup. Will get back to it later.

Thanks for taking the time to post it!

Great!

And then at the end of those long days you have the energy to blog about it too.   I love that your dad is following you on line and commenting, nice.

OK MH.  Perhaps I shall.  However my experience(s) are not up to those of Whitley Strieber or your fellow Arizona native Travis Walton, but interesting anyway.

Alien a few suggestions

A gallon zip lock with ice cubes....

At the gas stop put the bag inside the upside down helmet
In the time it takes to gas, pee and drink the helmet will be cool

Also a highway evaporative vest is the bomb in high heat low humidity

At every bathroom break I get my whole head and face wet with cold water  It wakes me up and lowers my core temp.

You need some foam for under your sit bone, maybe the hotel has some from packaging. You could not pay me to ride anywhere without my russell day long seat  Worthy investment in your sanity

Oss

That was my bike on page 4  of the 6/13 post with the NYPD9-11 sticker on the windshield and the bear on the trunk.  The bear keeps the deer away

Thanks for the pics, Alien.

Bad back.  I can sure relate.  Sad   Believe it or not, a good ball should help, usually does for me!  No, don't go there.   coolsmiley

Hit the local Wal-Mart and get a tennis ball, sometimes you have to get a 3 pack.  Go to your room, lie on your back and place that tennis ball right where the pain is.  Gently and carefully lie back on the ball, keeping most of your body weight off it.  Breathe deeply and roll the sore spot around on the ball, using your elbows for support.  As it loosens up, allow a little bit more weight on the ball.  I sometimes bite the bullet and lie on the sucker.  It's worked so well for me I try to remember to carry a tennis ball on longer trips.

Until you can get that high dollar Russell or Ultimate.
