I  heard something over a year ago that you could get a cheaper one if you don't fly in  an stay on the ground. Any truth to that ? I would like to go back up but I got a 20 over two years ago so that may put me in the hot seat.

Nexus, which we have, is a trusted travel program which you must apply for. It
still requires you to have a valid passport.

You have an option of getting only a passport card for land/sea (apparently not air) travel to Canada and Mexico.  $55 rather than $135.

What does that mean?  Possession of pot?  If so, you'll need to check into it with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to see if it's an issue.

You Canadians have some strange lingo for weed.  Grin I think he meant he got a speeding ticket for 20 over the limit. If so I would think as long as you paid the ticket you are fine. Now if you ignored it thats going to be a different story.

Ohhhh.  I read it, "I got a 20, over two years ago," not, "I got a 20 over, two years ago."   uglystupid2 I though maybe 20 had some relation to 420.

Not an immigration expert, but in Canada unpaid traffic fines could result in an arrest warrant, but, in Alberta anyway, they will typically just wait until you have to renew your vehicle or driver's licence, then force you to pay outstanding fines and overdue penalties before renewal.  I wouldn't worry about a parking ticket which is issued by and payable to the municipality, but if I were an American with an outstanding traffic fine in Canada, I would pay it rather than risk arrest or impoundment of my vehicle.  If all fines are paid, I wouldn't give it another thought.
