Just completed a very rewarding week at the Americade Rally in New York's Adirondacks. Other than the rain on Sunday, before the event began, the weather was cooperative and we got lots of riding. There were guided group tours, unguided tours, boat cruises, guest speakers, a fashion show (with thousands in door prizes), a comedy show, and the opportunity to test ride anything from an F6B to a Slingshot. One thing I noticed as the week went on: Despite there being some 75,000 motorcycles in the region by week's end, I did not spot ONE new Valk in the area. I'm one of those riders who loves to park in town after a day of riding, and wander the main street , talking bikes, admiring bikes and spotting the latest ideas and accessories. As the days progressed, I noticed hundreds of the new Indian models, many hundreds of Victories, scores of CanAm Spiders, a few dozen classic Valkyries, lots of F6Bs, and THOUSANDS of Goldwings and Harley dressers. But, no where did I see a new Valkyrie in town, or on the road. I guess there's a chance that I missed them. But their limited representation was noticeable, or, should I say not noticeable. If this observation reflects on their sales numbers, then, this latest Valk may go the way of the other discontinued Valks....only, far sooner than expected. And, the Honda demo ride sector ALSO left out any signs of the new Valkyrie. (As did the regional dealership) Sigh. Has anyone else noticed this situation? Mike in New York
