I just received the 100w motorcycle system from gooddeals18.com.  It has two waterproof speakers, a 100w amp, wiring and mounting hardware for around $55.00.  I have not installed it yet, but hooked it up to my truck battery and it sounds good, and I think loud enough to hear at highway speeds.  I plan on making ss brackets to mount the speakers to the windshield brackets, the amp on the handlebar between the risers, and put the mp3 in the tank bag.  Not affiliated, but it looks like they have a lot of cool stuff at good prices.

You can place the amp on top of your battery. There is enough cable to do it. I just slide it under the battery strap. When I need into it, I just pick up the amp and lay it off to the side. I ran the mp3 hook up under the seat, under my tank bib, and out the side of the bib and tank. I can put it in the pouch out of the weather this way. Also I hid all the wiring under the tank. The black neck cover I can remove and get to my fuse this way.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the one with the remote, so I'll need access to the amp for power, mute and volume controls.  I don't think the amp I got it waterproff, so I'll need to get a little creative there.  Fudgie, does the amp you have get hot?  Mine seems to have a little opening at the top front and back, I assume for air flow, and I'd hate to seal that up and have the thing overheat.

Mine also has no controls. all mine run off my mp3 player. Not sure if it gets hot or not. Its been under my seat since March and 8,000 miles or so with no prob. Mine is from cycle sounds.

I am guessing you might mean Cycleworks Fudgie, I have the same one. I got my bike with no tool kit under the seat, the PO lost it. with minor mod I have mine in the slot where the tool kit would be, been using it every ride, including a couple long distance 9 hour a day rides and no heat troubles, also use volume control on MP3 player, volume on amp stays set at 8 on a scale of ten.  8)
