Biker groups will protect supporters at Trump rally in Phoenix...

In the wake of violence waged against supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at past rallies, two biker groups will be on hand at Saturday's Trump rally in Phoenix to allow citizens to exercise their rights in peace.

"We're going to stand between them and any protesters that come onto the property and hopefully protect them from any bodily harm, should it get to that point," said Cindy Perrin of Lions Guard Arizona. She said the group is made up of veterans, retired police officers and others.

They were joined by Riders USA, said Kirtis Baxter, president of the motorcycle group. Baxter said up to 150 bikers would be arriving to help "keep the peace."

He said the bikers were there "to make sure that (violent protests that) happened in San Jose and Chicago doesn't happen out here" and that the goal was "to protect the First Amendment."

Perrin also said her group would protect Trump supporters.

"We don't want to see women being pelted with eggs," Perrin said, referencing an episode at a San Jose, Calif., rally in which a woman who made it through the mob of protesters was hit on the head with raw eggs thrown by anti-Trump protesters.

"I'm not one to back down," said Perrin, a former New York City police officer. "I was born in Harlem ... I've been fighting all my life."

Lions Guard Arizona's motto makes their opinions clear. "Better to be a lion for a day, than a lamb for eternity," it reads.

The group's website makes its support of Trump clear.

"Donald Trump has struck upon a nerve that runs through both factions of the political establishment. Against an elite that sees national borders and culture as obstacles to their machinations, Mr. Trump stands for preserving American sovereignty and identity," it said.

"Against the useful idiots of the elites, hypnotized by their delusions of utopia, Mr. Trump presents a vision for America based in sovereignty, security, prosperity, but most importantly, reality," it said.

It's refreshing to see some people are willing to stand up to these protesters, even more so that they are bikers, perhaps those who ride bikes love freedom and understand it better then some others... :)

Sorry, all this brings to mind is Altamont Speedway 1969. The stigma from that incident still hangs over the motorcycle world.

Good to see, Don.

There are those who believe in peaceful free speech and wouldn't turn violent no matter what and the anti Trump rioters depend on that.  It is time to take a stand.

Reminds me exactly of that church whose actions were partly responsible for the forming of the PGR, bless the PGR.

MP

Liberal Anti-Trump idiots are violent, create riots, attack peaceful Trump supporters.  And the media says it is Trumps fault!

It is time to defend themselves.

Just like us taking our own defense in our own hands, instead of waiting 10 minutes for police to respond to a gun free zone, where a gun man is taking target practice at defenseless citizens.

Self Defense is the most basic of human rights.  Democrats wanting to limit guns don't believe that.

One thing that bothers me, Some police have said and I agree, You must not be a victim don't just stand there and be shot, do something. With 100 or so people and probably mostly men no one even tried to stop the gun man in Orlando. You don't see killers going into biker bars. So what's wrong with people in gay bars they are still men. It would seem like that if ten men there had rushed from the side they could have stopped this attack. I know it's easer said than done but 100 people and no one tried.

MP

I agree.  Go on the offense.

We heard of the one man, cowering in the bathroom stall, texting his mother.  Telling her he was waiting to be shot.  And when the shooter came in he said so.

Well, if you believe he is going to kill you anyway, why not at least make an attempt to defend yourself?  Throw a chair.  Charge.  Maybe you will be killed.  But, if 10 of you do it at the same time, MOST of you will make it!  And, it will surprise the shooter, as he is NOT expecting resistance.

Seems like we are being taught to just cower, and wait for swat.  I heard the shooter was loose 3 hours?  Can that be true?  Wow.

It sound good, to allow people the right to speak.

But I still have the same, single question.

Quote"Donald Trump has struck upon a nerve that runs through both factions of the political establishment. Against an elite that sees national borders and culture as obstacles to their machinations, Mr. Trump stands for preserving American sovereignty and identity," it said.
When did Donald Trump STOP being one of the elite?  ???

While I think it's an interesting idea (especially for that location), I doubt it'll stop someone from tossing eggs at whomever.

It's been a very long political season and I've grown tired of all the BS.   I don't like either presumptive candidate (actually, I despise the Dem version and don't like Trump).    But, I fear the Hildebeast will walk away with this election.    Trump keeps stepping on his...............

He'd be better off (IMHO) if he would just wave and keep his mouth shut.    While his ideas may generate some support and to some point make a lot of sense, his radical methods are only hurting him now.   Just my opinion, doesn't count for much but, it's all mine.    And no, regardless of who the candidates are, Hildebeast will not get my vote.

Bill, I would like to think that I would rush the shooter also. But it's hard to say what was going thru their minds. Many of them may not have even known what was going on. The video also may show that some of them tried but failed.

Hook#3287

Who knows if the victims had the time to comprehend the situation and react in a way to prevent more carnage?

Maybe the forensics will tell?  If they release them.

It's my opinion, that if just ONE of the victims had been carrying, the outcome may have been different.

Even one with pepper spray would have changed things.

But, the perp chose his victims and his crime scene correctly for his purpose.  Chances were, no one would be armed.

I see LaPierre has distanced himself and the NRA from Donald Trumps statement that if the vics were armed, they could have stopped the perp. Also, Trump has modified his statements.

I know one thing, in my nanny, babysitting state, if someone did respond with force and they didn't have the correct permits, they would be in jail.

The emperor has no clothes

I agree with what you are saying. But as I understand it there was an off duty cop armed that engaged him right away. But he was out gunned. I think the on site video will answer a lot of the questions.

The Clintons are political elite: their whole life has been politics and they've made good money doing it.  They are now millionaires and represent the top 10% earners of our nation.

Trump is 19th century-style elite: inherited money from a real estate baron, he has done nothing but the same since.  He is a billionaire and represents the top 1% earners of our nation.

There, fixed it with the TRUTH for you.

Don't go believing anything differently just because Trump uses the label "Republican" for himself nowadays, and the masses are buying it lock, stock and barrel.

While I won't dispute the facts, Trump did have a head start over the rest of us, I still believe he qualifies as a self-made billionaire.   According to Trump, his Dad gave or loaned him a million bucks to start with.   Now, I agree that's a lot of money but, it's no where near a billion or, the multi-billions he's worth now.   So yes, he had a head start over us but, he did very well with what he got.   Credit is given where credit is due.   :cooldude:

Yep.  ONE.  Shooter had been there several times before.  Probably knew EXACTLY where that ONE armed guard was, and took him out right away.  If there had ben several CONCEALED carry citizens inside, he would NOT have known who they were, and they would have taken him out.  Would people have been killed.  Yes.  But, pretty sure bet it would have been LESS than it was.

The better point though, is that if the shooter had known beforehand that a number of the citizens there were armed, and he did not know WHO, would he have done what he did?  Hard to say, but I would guess at least a 50-50 chance he would NOT.

Although the details are still sketchy it appears the cop engaged him at the entrance but was outgunned. I don't see anywhere that he was killed. It appears he immediately called in help but they were also outgunned until SWAT got there and it was deemed it was a hostage situation .

I researched the price of AR15 type weapons and looks like you could buy at least 10 for that 20k.  I see prices of 700 to 2200.  Maybe you're referring to the genuine article though. No idea about that but I'm sure the cheap civilian models will get the job done :cooldude:
