We put a deposit on a 97 Valkyrie Candy Cane Trike with 50,000 miles.  Trish has been wanting a Can-Am Spyder for the last year or so, to learn to ride.  Several of her friends in our local riding club have bought them.  After seeing a couple of the Valkyrie Trikes at InZane, and some of the Lady riders explaining to her that having reverse is not that big a deal, she wants to try a Valkyrie Trike first.   This Trike has a 2000 Motortrike kit and a Roadsmith rake kit installed.  Going down to look at it over the 4th of July and buy it if the inspection goes well.  It is located east of Orlando in Florida.  Any advise on what I should look for or ask when inspecting the Trike?

Thanks,

Dan & Trish

Looks like it already has a rake kit on it. Can't tell but looks like a Motortrike kit on it. Ask about if it has air ride and how they air it up and down. I have a Motortrike on a 92 Goldwing and love it.

It is not a show stopper but it should not have a radial tire on the front.  Bias ply tires on the front are more stable on curves.   If you wife rides it and finds she does not like the feeling of forcing the trike around curves and corners you can change to an 8 degree triple clamp set from Daryl at VTXtreme.  I changed both of mine from Roadsmith rake kits to his.  They make the trikes much more comfortable and easier to handle.
