SO I had been planning on going to Inzane as it was the perfect location for me as it wasn't to far away and could spend more time with ya'll.... plus I know there were some roads in the area I would get to see for the first time..

So I paid registration for Me n Dad and booked a room a couple of months before.....

But Last year I burned up the clutch during a flat tire event ( tried to move the bike in 5th), So I needed to replace clutch guts and replace the plugged tire....

So got all the parts and drained the oil on Tues 5-24-16 to get started....

Took my Nieces to Cedar Point in Ohio the next day and planned the weekend to get the work done in plenty of time for Inzane....

During the day riding Coasters ( we had the Fast Passes and rode about 15 rides in 5-6 hours) and stuff a 50 year old man should probably no longer do.. And it was a hot day.. about 3PM I felt hot, dizzy, nausea, shaky and told the everyone I need to go home.... So we got in the car and another person had to drive as I did not feel well enough to drive.... started to get the chills on the way home and got into bed as soon as I got there.

Next day, I started  to have to visit the bathroom about every half hour... I won't go into detail, but lets just say I had little control over the issue....

After about 5 days of nonstop fun.. I went to Urgent Care and they said I had a virus, and needed to ride it out a few more days...  4 days later, still not stopping, so I went to my Dr and he took blood and "samples" and said if it did not get better or got worse, go to the ER....

Well 2 days later, June 5th, i went to the ER with severe cramping, still liquid adventures in the bathroom, fever, etc....  Of course when you have severe bowel distress they want to do a CT and make you drink 32oz of contrast liquid AND then want to hold it in for an hour.... needless to say I almost made a boo boo in the CT suite..

I was then admitted and put on IV fluids and Antibiotics for several days.. the general diagnosis was "Severe Colitis".. after 5 days of test -including a sigmoidoscopy and a biopsy- things got better and I was released after 6 miserable days in The Hospital..... They never did have a definitive cause other that "bacterial infection".....

So I got home, went to bed for 14 hours... got up the next day took a long shower, and shave for the first time in 5 weeks.... and looked in the mirror and said to myself "who the f#$k is that?!?!?" I had lost over 25lbs in the last 2 weeks of near constant going to the bathroom ( You know the "D" word)... And most of it was muscle and in my face, arms, legs, but of course the beer gut was still partially there... I would not recommend this a s a way to lose some weight....

Weak as kitten i spent the week finally eating solid food for the first time in 3 weeks- bland diet.. no dairy, raw veggies, of anything with flavor.. will still be on this limited diet for the next few weeks.. Also was told no travel for the next few weeks...

So instead of fixing the bike and going to Inzane I spent it at home getting back to partiall normality..

It wasn't until Fathers Day, that Dad came down and helped me remove Rear tire and get bad clutch out of the Bike.... I took both to a local dealer that would mount the new car tire and replace all the guts in the clutch pack ( he's had it for a week and I pick it up Today- busy and slow...LOL)

So right now this is what my Fat girl looks like...

So hopefully I can get her back on the road this week and not miss much more of the season.. actually I finally feel strong enough to hold her up... Wink

Sorry for the long story, but just wanted all to know why I didn't show up....And that I regret missing one heel of a good time by the sound of all the reports...

I feel your pain.

Had severe "liquid fun" myself about two months ago.

More fun than a 62 year old man should be allowed to have.   uglystupid2

Got really dehydrated and lost 20 pounds in two weeks time.  Went from 195 to 175 pounds.  Was really weak and couldn't do much for myself.  They never figured out was wrong with me either....except for the dehydration part.

Was in the hospital for 4 days myself.

I'm finally back up to 185 now.  I know what you mean by looking in the mirror.  I felt like I was looking at a skeleton of myself.

Sorry to hear it Brad.  Medicine is more science than voodoo these days, but when you feel near passing over and their not sure what's wrong, after umpteen tests, you start thinking voodoo.

I had a very similar experience in the Middle East years ago.  Fortunately it only lasted about 7-10 days.  However, I knew exactly what was wrong;  I made the mistake of ordering chicken in a pizza restaurant, and they sent a young boy to find one, and he scrapped one up off the street that had either been run over a number of times, or died a natural death before being run over, some days earlier, in 90 degree heat.  But if they bread it and fry it, you will eat it.  Standing gave me severe passing-out vertigo, so I could only crawl on hands and knees to and from the bathroom, and that was one of those bomb-sight holes in the floor, with nothing to hold on to but your knees.  About three to four times an hour.  You are so dehydrated you must drink water, and 60-90 seconds after you do, you're crawling like it's an Olympic event.  I lived on water and strong Chai (tea) with no sugar.  Hell of a way to drop 20 lbs.

Glad your still with the living.

Amusement parks with thousands of teeming humans...... hmmm.

AND, who's fault is that?   Some things can and should be addressed.   It's all about priorities,  I'm not saying your reasons aren't valid but, I know for a fact that you have a friend who's willing to ride that Valkyrie for you.  Wink

no more amusement parks for you am sure,  you have had plenty of amusement to say the least.

Although not quite 50 yet,  I am slowing down some as well not as 'adventurous' as say in my 30's for sure.

Sometime the risk of the fun of adventure parks does not justify doing it in the first place.

Gotta go,  get some miles on my Valk now and brush the dust off the seat myself.....   Cry

Sure hope whatever bug you got in you is gone for life.  Sucks feeling down and out even when we feel pretty o.k.,  we must look on the bright side of when we just feel o.k. vs. am sure how you felt being terribly miserable for weeks.

I've even noticed myself just getting up in the morning don't feel the best for whatever reason.

SO Finally.....

I am back on the road!!!!!!!!!!

AS I said in another post.. Left out the oil strainer in the clutch area, but other than that she is running great and the new clutch is working great... Major difference, so major I suspect it had been bad/going bad for quite a while...

New tire is great- Yokohama Envigor... like it a lot

From posts here.. bought a Mighty Vac, and did all the fluids... took HALF the time and was soon much easier.....

SO thanks all for your help and for all the knowledge accumulated here..... saves much time and effort....

I had to order a new gasket for the clutch cover and when that comes in I will remove the clutch cover and put in the Oil Strainer where it belongs.... but still getting in some miles in the meantime....

Thanks All... See you on the road this summer.. whats left of it...
