I ordered one of those advertised tactical flashlights, ended up getting some extras. They are really cool. 800 lumens and really lights up the night. Blinding indoors! These things are made in Americ and worth the money. I'm going to try to make a short video of the bright beam tonight now that the powerful batteries are charged. took overnight to get a green light!

I have a few tacticool lights (flashlight and gun lites; Surefire/Streamlight), and the cheaper Walmart/amazon harry homeowner LED flashlights are not as good, but they are getting much closer than they used to be. Makes my little AA Mag lites nearly throwaways even with new batteries. My biggest harry homeowner Fiet Electric 2 D-cell LED lights up the world, and has 5 settings; bright (1000 lumen), medium (500 lumen), dim (250 lumen), blinding strobe, and SOS. And all these new household LED flashlights have sliding zooms from a narrow square (not round) to very wide. Around $50 on base. Too heavy to duct tape to your shotgun. http://www.feit.com/conserv_energy/flashlights/led_flashlights/72336

http://www.streamlight.com/en-us/product/class.html?cid=2I use these at work and at home the one at work is about 600 lumens the one at home is 1100 lumens. Rechargeable, and the 600 lumen comes with 2 batteries and the dual battery charger. The 1100 comes with the light, battery and charger. I use the 600 at work everyday and the batteries do hold up and what is nice is to have the extra battery on hand to switch incase I run out. The 600 looks to be a bit bigger than yours but the 1100 is about 10 inches long. They also have an adapter that you can plug into your cigarette lighter so you can keep them in your vehicle and always keep charged. The 1100 lumen is just to bright to work with but for lighting up the outside or walking the dog and keeping both of us safe if some driver doesn't see us is ideal. Sometimes I turn the brightness down so that its easier on the eyes because both have 3 settings of brightness and a strobe flash. The 1100 has 1100, 600 , 300 the 600 has 600,350, 200. I use these every day and have had others but they have not held up. The warranty and service are good also turn around time is about 2 to 4 weeks and they fixed a couple of mine for no charge. Both at full brightness will last about 1 1/2 hours but at lower settings up to 14 hours. I have run one battery of the 600 down in a day not very often though but have never gone through 2 batteries. I will post a night pic if I can but the 1100 will make 500 feet seem like day and the end of the block is no problem. 1100 lumens is bright and about all you need really the 600 is a perfect work light especially in those hard to see places. The 1100 is a bit bulkier and just to bright to use full blast it reflects to much light in tight areas and you can use the lower setting. But the size and the fact that you have to hold the button to go down to the next lower lumen on a consistent basis is a pain. I have used the 1100 in a protection situation and can tell you it totally disenchanted the person from pursuing his course of action.

Flashlights, you can't get enough of them. I have an original Steamlight mounted on my Mossberg 500. Two or three led small flashlights (Probably China) Two Mag lights, a two cell D and a three cell D battery, both changed to leds. I also have two headllamps LEDs with red flashers for both cars. The latest is this one a Monster Flashlight (USA) uses one lithion ion 14500 rechargeable OR one 2A alkaline at 40% power. 350 lumens, full power, half power, or strobe. Pulls 1/2 amp for 2 hours at full, 6 hours, half. Wow!

Surefire and Streamlight are (and have been) the top two gun light and tactical light Mfgrs. Surefire is the more expensive, but Streamlight is just as good and reliable.
I will be looking at Shadowhawk.

I have a sure fire and I like it a lot. its bright enough but not near 800L. The other great thing about this X800 is the lens, it throws a beam the size of a house at 20 yards. It can scope down to a concentrated beam like the sure fire or it can flood your whole back yard if you aren't quite sure where the noise came from. I haven't seen another pocket sized flashlight that can do that.

My wife works for Rayovac battery/flashlight company getting around or near 1/2 off on a lot of products they have in stock anyways at the company store. This is a keeper, but sure gets HOT to the touch on the lense side just as bright and far of distance as say a 2 million candlelight power floodlight made for say shining deer at night that you plug into the car cigarette lighter. The BEAST 2000 over 60 bucks or so got for mid 30's in pricing, plus can get a nice discount on the lithium batteries as well. Virtually indestructible and if anyone ticks you off, you can get use it to knock someone out for sure pretty heavy duty and heavy. http://www.rayovac.com/Lights/Outdoor-Lights/The-BEAST-2000-Flashlight.aspx

Kept getting spammed about these 700 lumen lights so I went online and started searching. Found one with 2000 lumens, Li-ion batteries, accepts AAA. Bought 2 of them. Make all my other flashlights look silly. Have a Streamlight on a Glock that's nice but not in the same league on brightness. The name on it is Outlite XML-T6. Has the focus function, recharger, AAA battery holder. Forget what I paid. Now googling on the name I see some sites say it's 900 lumens. Oh well. Guess I got lied to. Still a great flashlight.
