Bigwolf and Crazy B back in the den

Bigwolf and Crazy Bitch are back in the den. Had a great time at Inzane, Talked with some old friends made some new friends and shared some road and an eatery or 2 with a few. Thanks to the VRCC staff for putting together another great Inzane.
Our foray into West Virginia was great but a very scrambled version of my original plan. Our departure, being just 3 weeks after prostate surgery, made a two up fully loaded 540 mile ride a bit unwise. So my phat gurl rode a trailer to my brother’s place in Belington, WV. Thursday before Inzane I rode out of Belington to scout for a ride I hoped to lead, ...... and to see how much I had healed and would be able to handle. The halfway point was already very uncomfortable so I headed back to my brother’s. Did I mention that my brother’s place is about a mile out a one lane gravel road with a steep hill that is usually partially washed out. Rutted out gravel on a steep slope makes for some interesting riding. Sure makes my adrenalin flow on the big cruiser but I do love how quickly she recovers when a rut jerks (slides) the front wheel left or right.
Monday morning at Inzane I led 9 other bikes to Blackwater Falls and back. A great bunch of folks that made leading them easy and fun. We stopped by Cool Springs on RT 50 to look at the old tractor hulks. Then on to the falls. We returned by a different route taking us by Westbrook’s Esso in Kingwood. Only the last 3 miles of the whole ride was on 4 lane. This old wolf was worn out and hit the bed early and did not get up before late the next day. The next time I rode was on the poker run. I guess that surgery took more out of me than I had realized. And the dozen or so kidney stones the surgery knocked loose have been unexpected and unpleasant reminders.
The rain storms that started at the end of Inzane made the road to my brother’s just plain dangerous for the bike so no more rides. But we had planned some work on some heavy equipment and after I promised to not lift or strain myself in any way, my brother agreed and we did get a little bit done. Everyone kept worrying I might try to do too much too soon after surgery. Dang! sitting around doing nothing is not something I do well. Maybe they were right but it felt weird to me.
Then it was on to Cairo, WV for a couple of days of family reunion. Checked out a car and automotive memorabilia museum in Harrisville, WV. Took some photos there and also at a store in Cairo. I will try to get those photos up later.
Then CB and I drove back to our home in Tennessee. Not really a ride report since most of the travel was in a cage but that is the way the plan crumbled.

Glad you made it home safe and sound, however that was done. It was nice meeting you and thanks for allowing me to join you and the eight others on your Monday ride. It was very enjoyable...
