before I call a gov't agency, and make myself  crazy2 , can you tell me if the Thruway toll from the Taconic Parkway to the NY/MA state line should be $14.54 for a bike? Seems too high, but it's the first time i ever used the E-Z Pass in NY.
thanks, Craig

Looks like they couldn't tell where you got on so they charged you the most they could.

The PA Turnpike charged me a little more than $16 and I didn't travel the whole thing.  The NJ turnpike is about the same.  The tolls, I mean taxes, are incredible.  Was over $55 round trip just in taxes, I mean tolls, from NY to D.C. and I had to do it 4 or 5 times a year for the last 4 years.

BTW, the Washington Bridge, between NY and NJ is something like $140 for a tractor trailer.  All gets built in to the price of goods being trucked.

And rich people aren't paying these taxes, I mean tolls.  Middle class commuters and middle class consumers are paying all those taxes, I mean tolls.  Strange how the "liberal" cities and states, you know.... the ones who claim to be for the people, have all these tolls and high sales taxes.

If you are talking about the distance between the North end of the Taconic and the Ma. border, the toll should be less than a dollar, as its only twelve or so miles. Sounds like they DID charge you for the full length of the thruway across New York. So, now you have to prove to them that you got onto 90 where you say you did. Have fun with the beaurocracy and let us know how you make out.

thanks for the responses. Oss, I found that after I posted, thanks.
I e-mailed NY last night, today they said you have a Massachusetts pass, go see them...ok.
Took a scoot to the nearest EZ Pass office after work today. As I'm taking off my helmet, a woman walks over and says "OMG that's a Valkyrie just like my father had!"  We talked, and turns out she works at the EZ Pass office. Things are looking better...she says meet me inside. OK.
She pulls me out of a pretty long line...looking better still...does all the refund paperwork to send to NY, and says check your next statement, and if there's a problem, come back and see me. Sweet!
It was only 14 bucks, but it is MY 14 bucks!
Now that wasn't so bad after all....

Gotta love it!

I keep getting a yellow light going into the Ted Williams, telling me to call EZPass. Only when I'm on the bike. I tried to call, what a PITA.
