New Haven, Indiana

Yesterday, I drove the Miata up to NE Indiana lake country.  We don't have much in the way of hills but we do have a lot of small lakes.

I drove up 327 north from Ft. Wayne.  327 has undulations but not much in the way of curves.  Any way, I drove to the boat launch at Wall lake.  I had property on this fishing lake at one time but i sold it.

Sorta basking in the sunshine and ready to go to Pokagon state Park when my friend, Herb, showed up.  Herb is a retired police lt from the New Haven Police Dept.  He has a place on this lake and is taking his retirement seriously. We had a lot of catching up to do and we started talking about his part time job, helping churches with their security.  Funny thing.  As an Elder in my church I've been trying to 'sell' our church on the same with no results.  We had a nice conversation on security and other things.

He had to leave and so did I.  I drove to the park and had a nice braunschweiger sandwich with mustard but no rye bread. and no Black Label, just a ginger ale.  This time I left the top down and drove back on I 69. Wow!.  Semi's running 85 mph. The Miata, with the top down has the same protection from 'alligators' as a motorcycle.  I reached speed of 105mph. to get around these suicide packs.  The wind noise in my hearing aids was driving me nuts.  Gotta go back to ear plugs, just like riding.

Special NOTE.  Dumb arse spell checker could not handle braunschweiger, it wanted me to use Ahnold's last name.  To you, spell checker, i say...dumbkoff. (sp. Not much good at German myself)

To all those that kinda look down on NE Indiana, flat as a pancake, I must say that we have some mighty fine lakes to make up for it.  This is Wall Lake.  I wish that I hadn't sold the property.

Nice looking lake...  There is nothing like sitting back on a pier, cold beverage at the ready, watching the sun set, unless, of course, you have a fishing rod in yer hand   Wink

Sounds like you also have a cure for your 'need for speed'  cooldude

And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...
