At least if you show him it being probably a 2000 model year vs. a 2002 tourer, you might get 1 grand more off their asking price being 2 years older maybe?

Good luck, I went to a farm auction a few years ago hoping to pick up a neglected, somewhat rusted, needing new tires/fluids, etc., 2000 tourer I think was maroon red/cream with under 20K miles and not sure I could have removed all that rust all over, but was going to go 3500 top end. It sold for 4400, near full retail the way the bike was conditioned NO way worth over 4K. You just never know at an auction I guess? Too bad it was one of the last items to sell wasting my entire day there for nothing.
