Ride Safe, Be Kind

Earth

« on: July 04, 2016, 08:42:05 PM »

Hi All,

I actually got home a little over a week ago but haven't had time to jump on the board what with catching up on 3 weeks of work.

I really enjoyed myself at InZane and I wanted to take a minute to thank all of the VRCC staff for the tireless work that must have gone into planning such an event.

It was really great to meet so many of you and finally be able to put faces with names.  I hope my blog posts were useful to those of you who were unable to attend this year.  I'm a crappy photographer but I did my best.

Huge shout out to Bill (BigBF) for the carb work he did on the Mothership.  In the 10 years that I've had her, she's never run better!

Thanks also to Daniel Meyer for his tech sessions.  I learned a few tricks for sure!

I sure hope that everyone else had as good of a time as I did and I hope everyone made it home safe.

So... where are we going next year?  Eureka, CA is nice up in the redwoods, and really biker friendly too.  It doesn't matter though.  Wherever InZane 2017 ends up, count the Mothership and I in.

Ride Safe,

Alien

It was good to meet you Scott. Glad you had a good time and are home safe. We are not sure where InZane 17 will be but I am glad to hear that you are looking forward to it. It's kinda addictive. Thanks for making the trip and for the blog. Ride safe and we will see you next year.  cooldude

The farthest west Inzane has been is Frisco, Co, so I'd be very surprised if it was held in California.  Inzane in Eureka would be more likely for me to attend than in any place east of the line connecting Arizona and Minnesota, however.  That being said, it all depends on available time and cash, and even a Maine or Florida Inzane is doable if I have enough of both.  Grin

Come on. Everybody knows you Canadians have boatloads of time and money.  2funny There was a consideration for Inzane at Moab. Don't remember when, maybe this years. I hope that is in consideration again. We came thru there on the way home from Spearfish. It was very cool, and there looks to be some great riding nearby. I do understand most of our members are closer to the east coast though.

Send a boatload my way and I'll have one so I can start to fit in here.  It's a worthy cause!

... "boatloads of money".... lol...Cdn buck at about 0.77 to the USD currently. Any Canucks who attended this year paid a 30%" premium".... now that's dedication Grin. Sure would make for a low cost trip for you all if it were ever held in Canada, but that ain't ever going to happen.
Seriously though, a huge part of attending any motorcycle event is the journey to and from that event.  My memories of Morgantown 2016 will always be highlighted by my 7000+ mile ride there and back.  Personally,  I would rather have a full contingent of attendees and a longer ride to get there,  rather than a short ride and a poor turnout - but that's just me.... I realize others may have different priorities.

Alien... was nice meeting you in Morgantown,  and I'm glad you made it home safe  cooldude

For what it's worth I would attend InZane in Canada but a large number of our members would not due to the requirement to leave behind their security.  Some wouldn't ride into California for the same reason.

I wouldn't ride to Australia.

I know where the search is being focused right now.  No one has guessed close.   Wink

Ya, but the nicest part of Canada is BC  Wink Wink and that's a long way to travel for 80% of the Valkyries in North America. OK, lots of other great locations throughout Canada too, but like you said, Canada's aversion to pistol packin' motorcyclists would be a definite non-starter with many VRCC members....a position that most of us here in Canada, while maybe not fully understanding, can certainly at least respect.

The Valkyrie is capable of many things ... riding to Australia from here is not one of them, so no...I would not attempt that either  Wink

But would you ride in Australia ? After our trip to Ireland last year I'm trying to talk my wife and friends into a New Zealand ride.
Ok, I'm going to guess Taos, NM.
